something i always do when i arrive at the ground is to walk around the pitch no matter how many times i have been there in the past. Begining to think this is a bit weird, anyone else have any rituals ?

Walking out to pitchside and getting very confused as to where to sit. Every time. Mental torment.

Depending upon what I am shooting (rugby or football) I go to the pitch early to look for the best location. Again based upon what I am shooting will also dictate the food on offer. Heineken cup is usually a hot dinner, football cold sandwiches

Scoff myself silly, especially on the sausage rolls and chicken legs at Castleford

I'll have to get some for the next time you come to us then..

sit in a media room until I get a team sheet then head out to the space I always sit at each ground I am at.

If its busy I may pop out and put a seat / monopod out just to keep a space then wander around the pitch just to stretch my legs

I don't do a lap of the pitch but do spend the whole time wondering which end were going to be attacking. Sods law I'm usually at the other end so have to walk the length of the pitch in a mad rush to get the right end before kick off.

Turn up nice and early and sit in the car.... crying.

Too right! Wherever I choose to sit, its usually the wrong place! Got to get lucky sometimes, I guess.

At away games, I usually get sent off somewhere ridiculous to get a press pass, then find my way onto the pitch and sit in the away dugout sorting out my camera gear. Sometimes I get invited with the Directors for some food first. Last match they offered a meal in the half time, but I had to decline as there's so little time to muck about with camera gear. Our little ritual is fish'n'chips on the coach on the way home.
