Yes
Well, I lost my remote desktop connection about an hour ago, Sue got home at 2:15 and rung me to tell me there was a power cut. Power is still off, so I've phoned the YEDL emergency line to be greeted with a message which states they apologise but know about a supply problem affecting Bradford BD13 and BD6, there is no fix time and its part of a wider area network problem apparently.....

I finish work in 35 mins, theres no power at home, its worse than no internet connection, theres no power, no tv, no xbox 360, laptop charge will last about an hour and half - 2 hours....30 minutes if I play a game on it ;)

I guess we'll have to go to bed and huddle together to keep warm....but its summer...D'OH!

Then theres the need to eat - we'll have to get a takeaway I suppose ;)

Its amazing how many daily tasks we take for granted that require the use of electricity.

We're a little too reliant on the stuff if you ask me ;)

Hmmmmm

I guess I'll have to play on my Nintendo DS, as long as it has some charge left :p

Failing that, I can always talk to Sue :p

Barbecue and a beer?

But we can't open the freezer because it'll let warm air in...........And theres no cold beer!

Get out into the summer evening. Go for a jog/walk/cycleride to the nearest pub that has cold beer and food.

I like that idea Paul.

Nice summery walk with a pub involved....could be a plan.

It's times like this that my UPS makes me feel soooo smug :)

Ps. Gas cooker & beer stored in the cool garage , what more do you need :D

but if the power is off wont the pub be shut, have a ride to bingley and photograph the canal or go to bar tat and see the cow n calf

Your UPS would have run out already :p

They're only really to allow you to shutdown your stuff safely and to guard against surges and brownouts. You need a petrol generator for that :p

The local pub will be shut yeah. But getting to Bingley at rush hour :gag:

I might just take a nap instead.

You haven't seen my UPS , I think mine will drive my kit for at least a couple of hours . My brother-in-law installs / maintains them for a living & I get "pre-owned units" for free :D

Meaning, I get to cook tea, watch a film, talk to you lot, and not matt :) all is not lost.

My goodness Matt - what a drama for a few hours powercut. You could have always gone out for a walk, read a book or magazine, done some photography, had a conversation, played a game etc....

Nah, the only things that are must watch are 24, bones and csi. Oh and Coronation Street.

Well I was playing snooker in Cue Gardens when the power cut hit and I am happy to see we were not affected!! :D :D :D :D (Not the snooker lights, the beer fridge!! :D)
