In Poundland today -- came across a box of 90 ZEISS 'pre-moistened' lens cloths
They're 6x5 inch ----each in a little individual packet and described as suitable for camera lenses inc muti-coatings
I found them in amongst the USB leads etc --if your going hunting

Sounds good, but how much do they cost?

Poundland, and suitable for £1000+ lenses, good luck. :nono:

I would rather buy a known product than risk my lenses.

Ok they may be ok, they may be China imports do you know 100% for a fact, worth the risk !

They're from ZEISS !!
How much confidence do you need in a brand name?

PS --- not China crap---USA made
Shops like Poundland do occasionally stock high quality products --they've been able to source cheap eg bankrupt stock etc etc

Hey I'm only commenting on a forum.

Remember many people are CONNED every single day buying FAKE items, so before you have a go just remember just because it says Zeiss does NOT mean it IS Zeiss.

Just because a watch says Omega does not mean it is.

I am simply stating, as a person here, that my optics are not worth the risk.

Again, just because it says that (and it may be) does not guarantee it, we all wwatch the TV, eg Fake Britania, Watchdog etc.

And what are we told every time, "if it looks too good to be true it probably is"

As I say, if it is go for it, if it takes the coating off a lens you can warn us about it.

Believe it or not these cheapo shops still have a reputation that they'll protect and I think they'll check people out before buying. In fact, I used to have a contact who supplied one of these outlets and from what was said they were 100% legit.

Well don`t buy them then.

Jesus, I thought I was a miserable git, you are leaving me in your wake.........

Will be taking a stroll to my local poundland in the morning to buy a pack or 5

Don't take the risk mate! ... The chemists sell them too ;)

Moved this to bargains section, if we could keep it slightly on track that would be nice :)

Joking aside........anyone thinking of getting these should do as I just did and read some of the customer reviews on Amazon.

I certainly wouldn't use them:)

Zeiss said:
The product is sold by the Carl Zeiss Vision division and is intended for use on eyeglasses and not multi-coated camera lenses.

Be warned.
