Potholes

The Highways Dept. have long resisted using a higher grade of tarmac of the type used in Scandinavia but if winters continue like this it may be cheaper in the long run, but I expect that is wishful thinking and they will continue to "make do and mend".
 
Never mind using a car on our roads, being a motorcyclist at this time of the year isn't much fun at all.
Thankfully I haven't hit a pothole but our roads seem to have more of those long ruts where the bikes goes all wobbly when I go into one, a bit like a needle on a record groove. Very unpleasant sensation.
 
There's a road near me, so many potholes on one side of the road that you can't avoid them. I went down there once in my fiesta and was near enough half way over the other side of the road, the car would sink in some of them
