Posting large parcels - help required

Hi guys,

I'm selling studio lights and I'm having a hell of a time trying to get postage at a reasonable rate. I have just been quoted 56 pounds from TNT and almost 40 from Royal mail. None of these are next day or insured.

Who do you guys use?

The parcel dimensions are listed below

Weight - 10 kilos
Length - 37.5 inches
Width - 17.5 inches
Height - 14 inches

Any help would be appreciated. I should say it doesn't matter if it's next day or not.

Thanks mate. I did add insurance on the sites I checked. I'll have a look.
 
i use collect plus find them very good indeed
 
You will have a limited choice of carriers because of the dimensions.

For example;
* Royal Mail parcels have a limit of 61 x 46 x 46cm.
* MyHermes has a limit where L + 2(W+D) must not exceed 225cm. (Yours is about 240cm.)
* DPD use the same calculation as MyHermes but the limit is 300cm.

You might need to shop around a bit.
 
Try MyHermes. I've sent everything from a professional studio tape deck to a lens hood via them and both the service and rates have been good.

Edit: Oops, Stewart's maths is better than mine. Still might be worth contacting their helpline

Thanks guys,

MyHermes is out due to the dimensions. As soon as i input them into their system it said the parcel was not suitable. I'll try collect plus or the wedelivertheworld.

Try DHL, I had a rear shelf for my car picked up and delivered for £15. I was not next day but was tracked.
 
Call MyHermes. I've sent fishing rods with them. Online it said I couldn't do it. When I called them they were very helpful and sorted it out.

The other option is when selling something large, do collection only :D
