Yes
I found a beautiful little cemetery close to where I live and took some time to wander around and take a few photographs.

I want to post some of the shots for C+C but a few show the details on the gravestone of the deceased, name etc

Would it be classed as inappropriate for me to post such pictures on the web ?

Thanks,

As long as there is not something disrespectful included in the picture I wouldn't have thought there would be a problem. headstones are on public view after all.

I would be cautious about posting anything too recent but then again the older gravestones tend to be more interesting IMO.

Of the two that I may post one is very old (early 1900's) and the other is dated 1974 although it looks like a new headstone which is why it stood out from the rest.

Interesting post! Here in Spain most cemeteries are walled and gated areas where the deceased are more or less posted into compartments within walls with ornate marble or stone covers. Because they are generally gated and often locked I am not sure they would be considered to be public areas.

So far, I have resisted the temptation to photograph, although I think that the areas within these cemeteries would make some lovely atmospheric captures.

I will research the local customs more before I try it out.

Cheers,

I see no problem at all. As said, as long as they are shown in a respectful manner then I see no problem.
