Yes
I've got a set of digibase chems to put up on the classifieds as a donation/freebie, but my local postmaster said I couldn't post them because they were corrosive liquids or something. Just had a look at Collect Plus, who say

We shall not carry gases, pyrotechnics, arms and ammunition or corrosive, toxic, flammable, explosive, oxidising or radioactive materials or any other noxious, dangerous or hazardous goods or goods likely to cause damage.

So, anyone know if they are postable?

Chems and batteries are a nightmare......i gave up trying to send via postal services a long time ago.

How tight régulations are now in thé UK, i'm unsure but hère you can find yourself in a lot of bother.

Sorry not to be able to be more positive about it.

Perhaps there is a courrier who offers a spécial service tho i suspect at a price!

Only other suggestion is for local pick up in person. No good for me like! Lol

I bought a box of Digibase C41 chemicals from Firstcall, and they were sent through the post. I can't remember who delivered it, but fairly sure it was a courier.

RM are now a dead loss for chemicals and lithium batteries. Check out a few retailers such as Process Supplies in Clerkenwell, London http://www.processuk.net whose business relies on such deliveries and which couriers they use.

Send batteries by post easily by using the correct amount of stamps and put them in the post box. Simples.

RM specifically exclude you sending lithium batteries. Of course if they don't rattle or catch fire then you may get away with it but there are reasons why they are paranoid about them.

I found a couple of suppliers one the fleabay who said they no longer use RM because of changed policy on chemicals; one was using FedEx and the other... someone else, sorry. These chems came to me via MyHerpes, and I guess I could send them on the same way, or suggest collect...

UPS delivered a new supply to me today if that's any help

Mark
Mine too, just ordered some chems direct from Ilford as part of their promotion and my chemicals arrived today via UPS, no sign of my film though.

I get mine from Silverprint. DPD delivered mine from there yesterday.

MyHerpes have just told me they destroyed the chems I posted to Paul, which they accidentally damaged, as the contained liquid, namely bleach (!), in contravention to their policy. Looks like I was right to hope for collection only!

Yeah using myhermes for anything other than rubbish collection does seem to be futile. I've never had a good experience posting with a budget courier and decent couriers are expensive.

Are they refunding you, or making out its your fault?

myherpes have been ok for me and they are dirt cheep.
I suspect they use random sniffers on parcels for chems.

I'd guess it's more likely one of their numpties dropped/kicked the parcel which caused the chemical container to rupture and spill out.

They're saying since it's not allowed goods, they aren't going to pay!

TBH the pack was a bit smelly before I wrapped it, so it's possible they just noticed the smell and didn't even damage it themselves.
