Can anyone give me a process or tutorial link, of how to achieve the look of the collage postcard image below.
I wish to make some design using my own work

Tony I am no expert just a happy snapper.
I think you would need to work with layers to achieve this look by taking your 5 images and placing them in order.
Not sure but think you would use photoshop.
Or you could maybe try a story board with a similar look.

Hi Cathy, Thanks for the reply.
I am using PS CS5, pretty converse with the software. The first collage of four images is relatively easy, however I'm just unsure how to process and complete the postcard with the inner circle.

Tony I have no idea to be honest.
Could maybe be a new layer using the oval tool selection and the pasting the image you want into it, then add a white stroke to that to give the border. There must be someone here who really knows and will get back to you hopefully .
Hope you get it sorted :)

Easy enough if you understand layers in photoshop
Create a new document at the final size you need (white)
Drag on each of the 4 pics for the corners one at a time, then use free transform to resize to the quarter-ish size you need and put them in the correct places, now drag on your final centre pic and resize as best you can, then use the eliptical marquee tool to select the oval shape, invert the selection and delete the outside bit. Then use layer styles to add some white stroke around it.
There are better ways but thats about the easiest I can think of now.

Hi Wayne. Sorry for the late reply and thanks for the input, I will be having ago in the next few days, I am ok with layers, it's just getting that oval in the centre I was finding difficult..

After you drag out the oval hold left click and hold down the space bar and you can move the oval about to get it in the right place.

I would use Inkscape (or similar) where you can draw the frames and adjust them freely. Then clip the pictures inside the frames. Inkscape is a free drawing program that lets you draw vector shapes (lines and curves not pixels) as well as text. Then manipulate them without any loss of quality. You can paste images in and treat them as objects too.

Here's a quick example using the original jpeg and one of mine. You can use any colour or line thickness you like.

Wayne you are missing half of the point - there's text in borders here and one border has a scroll effect. That's not a Photoshop duty! It wants a drawing program. Illustrator, if Adobe - but that's expensive. Or Inkscape as suggested - but whichever way, a big learning curve.

Yes. You'd need some experience with curves to get the scrolls looking right. Alternatively you can pick through the masses of ready made objects available. But vector drawing programs are the appropriate tool for that job.
