Take your pick - Canon EOS10 on eBay. Being an EOS camera, it should be compatible with the lenses you use on your 60D and it's got plenty of modes and options to play with. I had an EOS100 back in the day, cracking camera and you can pick those up on the bay for even less.

Or you could move away from familiarity and try something completely different. What are you looking for; manual controls, point-and-shoot, medium format? :)

Thanks guys I am in Scotland, the trouble is I am not entirely sure what these cameras can do as I have never had anything like them before.

The Zenit is by collection only, the Canon is make an offer....but what? I quite like the look of the last but don't know anything about it, will have to do a bit of internet searching.

The Canon I think would be great if my lenses are compatible with it?

Shouldn't be too difficult, what are you looking for in a film camera apart from VFM?

Then yes, they'll fit. I don't know if Canon have an equivalent to the Nikon DX size lens for APS-C sensors but if so and if your lenses are that type, you'll probably see some vignetting due to the smaller image circle so you might need to look at full-frame glass.

Personally, I'd look for a manual camera like an AE-1, AV-1, Nikon FG, Pentax MX, Olympus OM, etc. You'll learn much more than if you use a camera with auto-everything plus it should be considerably cheaper than buying full-frame glass that'll fit a modern SLR.
 
Thanks for that Strappy, first I don't want auto, I don't use it on my 60D neither do I want to buy new glass. I would rather have a camera that I can learn from. Will check out some of the suggestions. Thanks for your help.

No worries, good luck with the hunt but be warned, it's a slippery slope from looking at a tidy manual camera that costs buttons to seeking out that rare and unusual lens or accessory to complete your collection ;)
 
Nonsense man, you can't go scaring her off like that, all you ever spend is 3s 6d on that first charity shop camera and then you're done, no more expenditure. Ever. Honest. :naughty:

Hah, when I were a lad we were paid in groats, had gruel for breakfast and worked 22 hours a day... oh hang on, I was having a bad dream, sorry!:D

Back in the real world, I see you live in Inverness-shire... somewhere near Inverness is Ffordes, one of the UK's best used camera stores. They currently have listed 99 Canon EOS bodies from £15 up, and you get a warranty as well (may vary with price, dunno). Lots of folk here have bought kit from Ffordes and speak highly of them, but I haven't used them myself.
 
I think Carol is in Wick Chris, which is (and I was surprised at this) 102 miles from Ffordes....quite a long day out. :D
 
Ah well, there's always the post. But at similar prices, I think I'd rather buy from Ffordes than a random fleabayer!

Anyway, back to the task in hand... maybe a bit of a wait, as I realised my shots are at the very start of a 36 shot roll which isn't moving forward at all fast. Just remembered that Peak do half price return postage with one roll, so the just-finished roll is going off today, no advantage in waiting.

Hi Chris and Andy I live about 50 miles from Beauly where Ffordes have their shop in an old church. To be honest Chris never thought about going there, will have to incorporate a visit on my next shopping trip to Inverness which will be next week possibly Wednesday or Thursday, I might even stop off and take some photographs weather permitting.

Note - I am not going to send my PC as I am so unhappy with the result but if I get a film camera next week I will endeavour to send something taken with it.

Andy, did you (or someone) say they don't necessarily have all the gear out on display, so if you're interested to view it's best to ring first?
 
Yes, pretty much everything is on the shelves behind the counter. They do seem to know where everything is though so if you want to try anything out its only a couple of moments until they find things.
 
Veering dangerously back towards the topic. I think I've got mine, the neg looks a little dense but I think it'll scan okay. Though it is probably a little tenuous.
 
Mine still haven't arrived yet, if they are here today I shall be getting Roberts to pen a very stern letter to my MP......and possibly the Times.....harrumph

The more tenuous the better, mine were pretty much as obvious as I could make them.

I think I've got my shot, need to soup a couple of rolls as I've forgotten which roll of Tri-X it's on though.

Change of plan, I seem to have made a mess some where, either developing or fixing have gone funny and besides its not the shot I thought it was. Drat...

That's a shame, it's really disappointing when a much-anticipated shot doesn't work... you've got me worried about my construction now, maybe I should re-check my digi "polaroid"....

I'm getting to stage where I might just underexpose a frame of velvia and call it Hendrix! At least I can't make a mess of the composition.
 
Mine have finally arrived, so hopefully I can get them stamped and posted in the next day or two.
 
So folks, if like me you have not posted off your postcards yet, remember that stamps go up on Monday (second class 3p to 53p, first class 2p to 62p) so it might be worth buying some stamps now! Need 16 by my count, yes?

(I was hoping my latest roll might drop onto the mat from Peak today, but no luck yet...)

OK, managed to check out the shots and one's OK, got my Moo account and uploaded (how come no-one suggested getting a discount from referrals ;) ), now just have to wait until 10 April (!) for the cards to come back. Not cheap, this game!

It's not cheap I agree Chris but can you really put a price on art?
 
I think that mine came back from Moo within about 3 or 4 days.

Hi Dean it was not too expensive, I was £80 for both the camera and the lens.
 
Well, colour me excited (in mono, of course)! Just back from a few days away, and there's a packet from Moo. My shot got cropped a little more in the process of printing (I think), but seems to have made it better. May take a few days to address and post, so next week maybe...
 
Devved my shot for this, just need to get it scanned and Moo'd :thumbs:
 
@ChrisR 's card arrived today, still haven't worked out what it is, I have numerous choices going round in my head and I'm trying to come up with a track that would have come out on 78rpm :eek:
