Post processing for Canvas

Hi guys,

I know there are some minor differences between viewing as prints, digital, and on canvas. I'm going to get a big canvas (48x36) and I want to make sure I've taken into account any specifics in processing.

We haven't decided on the specific picture just yet, though we've got a few options. I know canvases don't look as sharp as a print so should I not sharpen as much or should I sharpen a little more?

Firstly on the sharpening I wouldn't over do it,
I would sharpen as normal but with a print that size you need to take in viewing distances as a canvas that size most likely won't be as sharp viewing up close. Also due to the size any sloppy masking is going to show so make sure and masking that is done is nice and tidy.....
I'm sure it will look lovely though, who are you getting to print it?

No masking (no photoshop). It will basically be straight from the raw plus a little sharpening and an upsample for pixels.

I'm using 1clickprint because there is a groupon coupon right now for 100 quid of printing for 29 quid. So I'm going to get a 46x36" print for 29 quid plus a tenner for shipping.

Just wanted to add my comments on 1clickprint - I can't speak for the quality of the print as 2 1/2 weeks after ordering I've still not received it.

Had absolutely no correspondence, but called them at the start of last week and they said it would be the end of the week. Didn't arrive by Friday and called them again - they said it _should_ get printed over the weekend; I politely asked that please _could_ it get printed given they'd already missed their last promise. Called them to check yesterday and they said yep had been printed and would definitely be here today. Just called them up and oh apparently the courier hasn't picked it up so it won't be here till tomorrow... I won't hold my breath...

Like I say, I can't speak for the quality, but it had better be good given their appalling customer service and complete lack of communication. I do know that I won't use them again though and I wouldn't recommend doing so unless you're happy to have an indefinite wait.
