Are the Royal Mail delivering posts on a Sunday these days?

I asked as I popped out to the corner shop this morning and came home to find that the postman had been and left a card saying the letter was to big and now awaits my collection at the local office

Any chance it was already there and opening the door had wafted it into view? That's the card not the poop obviously ;)
 
In the run up to commercialmas, I think the RM do some Sunday deliveries, probably n the expectation that there'll be someone in!

A neighbour had a DPD delivery a couple of days ago and they text with an expected time of delivery (I know that the driver who delivered this package does, we've chatted about how handy it is for all parties). Didn't stop the person waiting for the delivery just popping out to the shop for 10 minutes (at least, the 10 minutes is the walking time) during the hour slot...

Nope neighbour got mail as well, was talking to them about it

Also date & time on the card correspond to today
 
We had a knock on the door at 8.30am this morning with a delivery too!!
 
wish they would up here but they find it hard enough to get post to us as it is.
 
I thought they'd been doing Sunday deliveries in the couple of weeks before Christmas for a few years now? I'm sure we've had delivered on those Sunday's for some time.

Even the NHS seems to be doing Sunday deliveries at the moment! A guy turned up with OHs supplies this morning (mind you, they were supposed to be here last Thursday!! :lol:)
 
Depends on the area, we do evening deliveries for larger and signature items but not normal letters and not on sundays at the moment
It's to get things out of the sorting offices and free up space
 
I saw a PO van pulled up outside someone's house on my way out at 9.15 am yesterday morning. It was also near a postbox so couldn't tell if it was a delivery or unannounced Sunday collection.
 
Delivery on Sunday??..I'd be so lucky. I rarely get deliveries on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ,Thursday or Friday..

Postal service is shocking around here.
