Post office - how long

I sent a first class letter recorded delivery on 3rd November that is still "being progressed through their network for delivery"

Has anyone else done this recently and have any idea how long it is likely to take?

Have you send with the person you sent it to to see if they have received it?
I've seen the RM tracker state that for days after the person received a recorded delivery from me.

Recorded delivery is exactly that, it doesn't get tracked on the netweork until it has been signed and delivered, unless delivery has been attempted and a card left for the receiver to collect or arrange re-delivery

its probably joined the back of the backlog..

although it seems to vary on areas, ive sent a load of stuff out mixed 1st and 2nd class and some has arrived and others not.

No, the only way I can contact them is by post which was why I sent it recorded, so I would know it arrived
