I thought I'd have a quick look over on CL for anything photography related regionally as I'm travelling tomorrow.
End up seeing a 1Ds Mk2 that's listed as being in Cardiff for a "too good to be true" price but thought I'd find out anyway. All I asked was if it were available and this is what it came back with:

My son put the camera on the internet for sale and i think he made a mistake. I'm based in Rome, Italy. I still have the camera for sale. I saw that are a lot of people from outside the country who want to buy my camera and if you are a really honest buyer i can send the camera to you, but only if you agree to use an escrow company because we must have some protection over the internet.
I want to have a perfect deal and i can let you 4-5 days for inspection and i will pay the shipping taxes, because i know that everybody wants to check the item.
Please get back to me if we can arrange something.

He hadn't pushed me (yet) to use his choice of an Escrow site (really a bad idea) but I don't like the idea of it either way. Safe to say I'll decline this "great offer".
