Just seen this on another forum, taken a look and found one of Petemc's shots - so would seem it is true.

http://stores.ebay.de/kunst-projekt - would seem to be selling prints of peoples work. Not sure how they have sourced them...but as Pete doesn't seem to be aware of it along with some people on this 'other' forum I am guessing all of them are illegally copied.

I have had a look through and don't recognise any others, but might be worth you having a look through and see if you spot any of yours ;)

Thanks for the heads up Pete, i'm also on another site wher i add some fire engine pics, and a guy was selling mine and others work on a cd on e-bay, we reported him but still waiting to hear since christmas.

I now resize all my images to around 640 x 480 res, which means you might get a 6 x 4 print, but nothing much bigger with blocking being visable.

Please let me know how you get on with this Pete, thanks again, John .
 
What kind of legal action can someone who's had their photos stolen take against him? Or would it only be possible to get him banned from ebay?

Don't know whether this would work or not but how about notify fleabay, then if the twunt isn't stopped/banned whatever - issue an invoice to fleabay for knowingly selling copyright material.
 
Id setup a random Ebay account and buy ALL his images. He'd have a nightmare claiming all the unsold fees back.

Damn, he basically defines copyright abuse. Even got movie posters which he clearly didn't get permission to print and sell on. Even a Windows Vista Wallpaper:

Gonna check and see if one of mine is on there (doubt it, I don't do that kind of photography...but am checking anyway).

@Ewan - He's broken copyright and worst of all is making money of images used without permission. He can be banned from eBay and if he's used anyone's shots, they can sue in attempt to claim a percentage of the sales he's generated.

Plus he's wrongly crediting the artist as himself (I assume, every one is apparently done by Adrian Herrmann). Wrong on so many levels. Someone needs to sue him.

Pete you should report him to eBay if you haven't already.
 
hmm ok the idea of this thread was for people to be able to see if their pics had been used, not to repeat the same thing to Pete over and over :p

Somone stole some of my girls aloud concert photos and was selling them on ebay without my concent...another guy on flickr kindly told me that they were being sold...But they only way he knew was because he was using one of my images as the selling pic...sometimes you might not even know if your pictures are part of a set being sold as most of the time they will describe what the photos are of and only show you one or 2...thats why i have now made it so that no one, except my contacts, can view them any bigger than flickr displays them....:(
 
Wouldn't it be more difficult and time consuming to take action, as he is based in Germany ? not saying this is a reason not to bother though.
 
I am looking into things. He's closed the auction. On the off chance he can read referrer info I'm not going to publicise things till they're more set in stone.

how did he get a copy of your photo big enough to reproduce prints that size? the one linked on your website couldnt possibly go that large
 
its possible to interpolate to very large for canvas printing, the quality isnt that good on canvas so it wont show too much
 
hmmm we print canvas' at my work and from such a small image i'm sure they would turn out absolute rubbish over 1mtr wide, i never rated fractals over PS standard image resize
 
what we dont know, is how big the prints hes photographed are...they could be very small and so look better than they would do on the real image. AFAIK when an image is printed the picture file needs to be 25% of the finished size, so a piccy 950wide at 72dpi will become 3958 @ 300dpi, so can be printed 4 times the size.
