possible HOYA filter FAKES....?

I have over 20 Hoya filters - mostly HMC quality

on which, I notice there are 3 different fonts and labelling designs

IMG_2765-crop.JPG

top
'H' and 'A' have their centres line extending to the left
'Y' is a tuning fork shape
'HMC' is a smaller font

middle
lettering is all bright white
'H' is an H
'O' is slightly rectangular
'Y' is a Y
'A' is A
'55' is a different font
'55' & 'HMC' are bold

bottom
'H' centreline extends both left and right (into the 'O')
( this style shows on their current website)

are any of these eBay fakes........................?

Of course - but eBay is rife with fakes and I was just curious

Send a piccy to Hoya, see what they think.

Hoya filters are predominantly manufactured in Japan. While Hoya is a Japanese company specializing in optical glass, some reports indicate that Hoya filters may also be manufactured in the Philippines.
this may answer your question

my money would be on the bottom one; the others don't look right. Hoya is probably the most faked photographic brand. They are not even the best one so I just buy something else
