Posiview's TP52 2016. Week 52 Celebrate added. FINISHED :)

Well, my mind is otherwise...cough...Iceland TP trip next week....Cough :) That's my excuse anyway.

I took a drive to YSP on Sunday with Jackie and Isabelle.

I had a tryptic or a diptych in mind and this was one part. I wanted to.....ah, what thell. It's this one.

On the plus side, I'm not in it :p

Move along, nowt to see here :)

Symmetry and textures undoubtedly but I also like the 3d-like effect created at the top of the wall. (y)

Looks like concrete blocks to me;) but I guess I am a bit of a pedant. Interesting response to the theme, the light picks out the texture and joints well.

And for that we are eternally grateful (y)
Nice textures and symmetry Andy :)

I really like that Andy - it takes a moment to grasp the 3 step element and the symmetry is (of course) spot on.

Andy, for its simplicity its really appealing. Framed really nice.

Hi Andy nice and simple works for me.

You are, of course, right Chris @sirch

I guess not every one of my submissions has to have a WOW, or aarrggggggggggg response

Cheers.

I'm having trouble working it out too, but, yes, nice textures and symmetry Andy.

Haaaa nice one Andy, I really like this, the staggered layers are not noticeable at first for me, but once I spotted them my eyes like going through the image from front to back and then back again... looks like you could have lowered the front row a tad though :naughty:

Colourful - good twist on the theme
Entrance - very dramatic image your light painting certainly worked
Forgotten 1 - a fun idea and well taken
Forgotten 2 :exit:
size - I like the Drama of the sky in the B/W version
Stone - It does have a 3d effect simple but effective shot

Cheers, Dean, I'll try much harder in Iceland :)

Thanks for the catch up

There is something on the red BG one that I was going to clone out but decided not to.
I see it
Notwithstanding, the addition, I do prefer the black background :)
Second week with me not in the photograph, see I do listen :D
But I said it was OK to post a selfie under "Simple" :D

Black BG for me, very nice indeed Andy really well lit

2 great images Andy, I think No1 just edges it for me as the flower stands out more for me

Enjoy Iceland could you pick me up a few items when your there........ I'm not jealous at all!

Going to agree with the others and go with the black background, very nicely done.

Black BG for me, nice job, really well lit. (y)

I'm going to sit firmly on the fence. Both are good; #1 is the more dramatic with the black bg whilst the second with it's bright bg gives a sense of happiness. Tough call.

Black background for me too Andy .... nice focus on the centre of the flower, it looks good.

Enjoy Iceland ....I'm looking forward to seeing some amazing photos :)

Really like the black background Andy, be interested to know about the lighting ? Really nice

Black background for me too

Hmmmm tough choice Andy, I love the vividness of the yellow against the red, but feel the black, although not much different is more 'simple' feeling so to the theme more, nice touch with the dew on them (y)

Thanks, all, think the dark BG will be going on the wall.

Well, half a day to go at work then off to Iceland on Thursday with @Dark Knight (+ Jo) @blondie606 @The goblin ....don't hate us :p

Cheers.

I didn't see the steps at first Andy, but that's really very clever.
Breeze blocks aren't stone, but I don't care, that's a good image.

Simple - #1 - I don't know if it's the pink background or not, but #2 doesn't seem as sharp.

Hi, Tim, cheers, I believe you are right. Same settings, same position, strange

Hi Andy, first (black) one for me. I like the image although it feels slightly under to me (which it isn't because of the highlights) so I might have upped the shadows a touch more to compensate? Lighting is definitely nice - especially on those water droplets. Good job (y)

Cheers, Paul, I pushed the shadows +30 and any more seemed to effect the highlights.

Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Cheers.

Very quick tweak - almost imperceptible but pushes the darks a bit further across the histogram without affecting the highlights too much (if at all?)

Original on left, tweaked on right

Easier to open the images in two separate tabs in IE/Chrome or whatever and toggle between them.

Stone is an interesting submission in that it doesn't have you in it - with out without wellies :p

It has a 3D effect and lifts it from being a boring pic of a wall or walls.

Simple, it's the black one for me too (y)

Enjoy Iceland and the close proximity you will all have after a curry and a few pints :cautious:

Cheers, just back and knackered but wonderful trip and great place.

Cheers.

Hi Andy... now this is a perfect shot to reshoot when the weather... ha ha only joking. Great scene, plenty of action and super use of stiching/wide angle.

Tiny observation which isn't crit: you have some very obvious sensor spots which are showing up in the stitching btw ;) Dead easy to fix in post but I hope for your sake you don't have hundreds of photos that need doing

As far as the image goes, belter, mate! (partly because of where it is)

Cheers, Paul. I was aware of some sensor dust, and forgot to edit. Opened in LR to edit and bloody hell, there must be around a hundred :) I'll call them casualties of war and have a sensor clean during the week.

Cheers.

Just noticed another error which I'll leave in for the observant :)

That's an excellent shot Andy from a number of aspects, not least the points of interest. Superb exposure capturing all the details and colour and super-wide pano.. (I see the spots ... and the twins!)
