Posiview's TP52 2016. Week 52 Celebrate added. FINISHED :)

Need, it's always need, whatever it is! Don't let any doubt creep in ;)

Personally I prefer the colours in #3, I think it makes a nice abstract

Such an interesting shot Andy - #3 for me too. Like the wispy movement and colour of the water.

Another vote for #3, I prefer the coloured version of whatever that is.

Hi Andy, hard to choose but I think the B&W, lovely soft effect on the water, and thanks for the link, I would never have imagined it was something that big !

Smashing photo for pair, love the lighting and the expressions and eye contact between you two,

Love pairs - a great sense of fun and connection - great touch with the matching caps.
Very hard to choose between 2 and 3 on big, but I think the subdued colour of 2 slightly edges it for me and really brings out the gorgeous lines of the sculpture.

Nice idea for the Pair shot and love the different face expression.

Any idea what that is? #1 is my choice out of the three. I thought the B&W suits the simple subject best.

Thanks, all @rpn it's a shell sculpture. Linky great photography opportunity any time of the day.

Cheers.

I'm glad you posted the second because at first glance I wasn't sure what the first was. Having seen the second I'll go for the first because it is definitely after and as an after-glow. I'm a bit curious that it is still glowing but there is no smoke?

Both excellent shots Andy - so hard to do ... I know, I've tried. I prefer #2 but #1 fits the theme best as Afterglow. Well chosen and executed.

Very nicely done, well done.

Very nicely done Andy, 2 cracking images.

Thanks, all, the @sirch the smoke disappeared very quickly and the afterglow stayed a few more seconds.

Cheers.

Most definitely the second for me Andy - the first just doesn't look sharp enough (I hit the same problems with my 105 often!) #2 is so dramatic with wonderful orange colour and excellent detail...and it's after the match was struck, surely?!

I like #1! Pity about the shallow DoF, but I like that it's not immediately obvious what I'm looking at.

First one for me the dof doesn't bother me I think we all know what it is, there is far to much obsession with clinically sharp images sometimes

Hi Andy,
I like the first shot for Big. The processing gives it a moody feel and almost a gritty feel to the shadows.
After - #1. It's not instantly recognisable which draws you in to look closer. The red glow is interesting, I've never studied a match closely enough to notice that before. Plenty of detail which softens well, but is still obvious in the oof areas.

Thanks for the comments everybody, the depth of field on the 105mm is absolutely tiny even F16.

I'll be in the Lakes from Thursday till Sunday on a talk photography meet when the theme is anounced, so I hope it's a nice theme.

Cheers.

Liking your #2 Blackpool shot .... smoke on the water.

And #1 After shot is a stonker ... neat idea too.

Well, this is my 300th week of TP52 submissions :)

I have an idea, but in case I can't find the prop, here's a back up.

I do like the themes where I can play on words.

Decided against my tripod and hand held f2.8 @ 80th resulted in an ISO of 512,000

Anyway, here's my Alien

Cheers.

Excellent Andy ... all down to regional accent .. or maybe even cross-channel .... so spot on theme. I know ISO's can be ramped up .... a tad !?!?!

It works in a very good tonal way, good shades of grey and very impressive for an ISO of 512,000

who'd of thunk it the vignette works too, its a stretch of the imagination though

It took me quite a while to get it... but it works, I like the graininess too.

Thanks all, the D750 works very well at high ISO and this was the perfect opportunty to test it out.

Cheers.

I like the way you think... ;)
Clever stuff and nicely PP'd.

Mr S ....... see that ----> -.- ...... do you see it..? ...... its the face of someone not impressed by your Alien....the matches, great piece of macro ....then....'that' .... -.- <--- that face again..... i could ... o.0 ...

Great take on the theme Andy. The B&W conversion really suits it

Like the play on words and it looks fine given the apparent ISO.

Cheers.

Thanks for popping by.

Well, that's a very unique choice for the theme Andy ...it works well :)

Thanks Susie.

Excellent take on the theme Andy :)
ISO 512000, b****y hell, you wouldn't know it.
Good call to do it in B&W and I agree with Allan, the vignette works.

Year 512,000 :)

There you go again...enjoying your word play here too, Andy

I had another similar one for this week, Lick Quid but already done :)

Cheers.

Great take on the theme Andy. The B&W conversion really suits it

Cheers :)
