weekly Posiview's TP52 2015. Week 52 Christmas added and FINISHED :)

SOUND

Andy this has such a lovely feel to it!
The position of her hands, the aaalllmost slight smile.... I love it.

The only thing I wish is that I could see the whole tat. :)

@viv1969 blookin' cropped tattoo :banghead:

Cheers.

Hi Andy,
A catch up from me matey.
Machine, great piece of photoshoppery there.
You've blended what I assume are just the two images perfectly.
It's a compelling image, could easily see that in a magazine advert. Great work.

If I am being totally honest, I am not feeling alphabet Andy. It doesn't really grab me. Sorry for the negativity.

Sound, I always like it when people submit photographs which give a little something of themselves and this one of Hazel is no exception. It tells us, the viewers a little story about Hazel, her style, her look, great stuff Andy, I particularly like the lighting. My only small crit is the clipped tattoo on Hazels arm, I would like to have seen the whole inscription but as I said only a small niggle. It's just something I learned that if there is writing in a photograph, viewers will enivitably want to read it.

Good work Andy (y)

Hi @blakester, Iain, no problems at all about Alphabet, it was very much a rush submission as we were going on holiday for a short break.

Sound, I rarely take photographs of Hazel. Apparently while under the influence I told her that I'd buy her a camera. She decided she liked my Fuji X20 so I tagged a portrait session into the deal :)

I mentioned what Scot Kelby calls 'Border patrol' to a guy the other day: looking around the border when composing a photograph so nothing is poking in or cropped out. Slipped my mind on this occasion :(

I enjoy lighting and will be looking to do more research over the coming months.

Thanks for the feedback

Like it Andy, great facial expression, I like the composition overall and the lighting looks really good too. (I think the hat is suggesting another theme for the 52 :naughty:)

Cheers @michael23 yeah, the hat, it's her favourite.

Hazel's a star, a natural. Clever lighting on her and on her hat, but .... I'm not sure about that light behind her right shoulder. Not that I know the first thing about lighting.

Cheers, I wanted to get some separation between Hazel and the black BG. I see what you mean, though, I'll have a quick edit on her right shoulder

Hi Andy, what a great portrait, she looks totally lost in the music you have caught at the perfect moment, nicely lit, tattoo's been mentioned but on saying that
I think people are more intrigued as to what it says, its not a major point,

spot on

Machine
Nice pp. The image of you works well with the terminator and the lighting is spot on imho. My only niggle is that I'm guessing the terminator image isn't yours?? Not that there are any rules I suppose ;)

Sound
Nice portrait. I love the expression on her face with her eyes shut, blocking out the world to enjoy her music. Nothing negative to say about it.

@alsjazzera cheers, Allan, I have to say I'm sometimes guilty of seeing the minor points at the expense of the overall photograph, so I appreciate your comment on the tattoo.

@Raptor Mike Machine, oooppss, didn't even crop my mind about using someone else's photograph.

Sound, appreciate the positive feedback.

Hi Andy, lovely portrait this, your daughter looks like she's well into the music she's listening to, her expression is so natural, you might not have been in the room :)

I doubt its very easy to go and take a photo of a Terminator TBH lol

Cheers @Dem55, Lorraine, She does like her music. I have to prod her sometime to ensure she's still with us :)

I have to agree with the other comments. There's a story in there but, as said, maybe needs to include both arms because of the tatoo. Or maybe your thinking was that the tatoo would distract from the idea of sound?

Machine- well what is left to say, very well done sir!

Sound, I like the idea and the story, only thing for me is the headphones don't really stand out. Maybe moving the light further round behind her might work. Well done all the same :)

Very nice Andy well presented, can't fault it

@BobBCN Nope, neglected to see that I didn't get all the tattoo in :)

Cheers.

@ChrisHeathcote cheers, Chris, I'm still learning OCF so the advice above is welcome

Very nice Andy well presented, can't fault it (y)

@Cobra, Cheers.

Hi Andy :)

Alphabet - Not keen on the eye shot, nothing quite in focus and really makes no sense to me :) - The terminator PS is great though, really nicely done mate

Sound - Oooo really like this, says the theme perfectly, good facial expression of being lost in the music too, nice lighting & background... ark at you with rim lighting

Cheers, @Dark Knight Dean, yup Alphabet is a naff but I was going on holiday so had to get something posted :)

Rim lighting, think I need a third flash :naughty:

Sound, nicely done and a great portrait shot.

Cheers, @rpn Stan. I enjoyed Sound.

Well, my first idea of sowing two dead animals together as a Dr Frankenstein Experiment didn't work out :jawdrop:

Wanted to do this technique for a while. Very much a rush job. Photographs taken while Jackie was shopping

One for a reshoot, me thinks.

Cheers all and I'll catch up with comments shorty

Week 16 Experiment by andysheader (Posiview), on Flickr

OK, that is too weird, too weird by far. It is also quite an amazing effect.

Fantastic execution there Andy. Great job, not one I'd suggest framing and sticking on the wall but shows a real jump in your compositing skills. (y)

Just thinking, what with you showing this one and your terminator face..... You must have a real belter saved up for POTY round 6. ;)

I'm not sure where I stand on alphabet. The focus doesn't do it for me (bear in mind I know SFA about macro though). Also, I'd have been tempted to leave out the 'I', as there's already and 'eye' there.

I can't pick between the two Terminator shots, they're just excellent. A brave attempt, and you've totally pulled it off.

Sound is another nice shot, with a really nice lost in the music feel. Given the overall feel I'll fight my usual annoyance at people listening through hats (although with MP3 quality it's probably no big deal. I'd also like the rest of the tattoo included, as I thing that would complete it. I can guess what it says, but I think just that extra bit would improve it.

Can't offer anything for experiment, except I've looked at these shots before and always been envious of the skills involved. You've done it really well here.

Very good and very neatly done!

I wouldn't have the patience for it!

Hi Andy, that in some way is quite scary, have seen it done before and you have nailed it, well done (y)

sound - very nice pic, although I think if she didn't have her hands on the phones you wouldn't necessarily notice them because her hat is taking the centre stage :p

experiment - I tried this myself not long after this one came out and they are great fun, you did a good job there mister :)

I think you're being too modest Andy! I've seen these shots before and decided they're far to complicated for me to even think about. Well done on a very successful first attempt

Ouch, my brain hurts lol. I like it.

nice one Andy, but weird :)

Phil

Cheers all.

@NickD Alphabet, no problems, it was a naff idea to start but taken as a PABD before we went on holiday :)

Thanks for the comments on the rest

Whoah, that's really weird and screwing with my brain :runaway:

Great interpretation of Experiment (y)

Cheers all.

Hi Andy - that's some experiment, it's very well done  I'd never even think of attempting something like this. It is making my brain hurt though :runaway:

Evening matey

Sound...you know what I'm like with portraits :( What does is impress me is your ability with lighting....top work mister  & for it's worth.....I don't mind the cropped tattoo....I didn't really notice until someone mentioned it...show's what I know eh ?

Experiment......yikes ;) cracking bit of photoshoppery & having looked round the web for similar, I have to say this is up there with the best shots

Alphabet - I feel I’d have liked to have seen a bit more of the pupil in focus. Part of me also wanted the alphabet not to include the letter i given the main subject of the image.

Machine - Simply superb. One of your best. Not just for the idea but very much for the execution. Enough said.

Sound - That’s a nice portrait which shows in this case you don;t have to see the eyes. OK I’d have liked to have seen the whole of the tat but that doesn’t spoil it for me. Nice one. I should imagine she’s pleased with the result

Experiment - This works well. I do find these shots unnerving for some reason. I keep wanting to have either the side or the straight on to be stronger than the other but the good one’s don’t. This is a case where it doesn’t so in my book it has a big thumbs up (I’m not sure that made sense but I know what I meant LOL)

@Dem55 @blondie606 @Delta Skies

Morning, thanks for the feedback. Alphabet, not my best fir a long time. @blondie606, I enjoy lighting, you need to bring your flashes on the next meet so we can see why they don't work.

Cheers all.

Experiment....More than a little freaky!
My eyes know what I'm seeing, but my brain does not compute
Very well done.
I'd have neither the patience nor the skill!
