weekly Posiview's 2012 ....week 52 Busy added...finished!

Have been looking at these all week on your flickr, its the spoons for me, the symmetry and the reflections really work, and the fact that you actually get closer the further down you go make it really interesting to look at

love your last 2 shiny shots.....not sure which one i prefer!!

poss the bulbs!! still no ideas what to do!!

Thanks, Liz. Wish I'd got outside and photographed in decent light..

Cheers, piece of advice...don't think too hard.

Looking forward to seeing your submission...

I like the idea behind the spoons Andy, but not the reflection.
The spoon gives a nice fish eye effect which i think could be used to show a more interesting reflection.

I'm not sure if taking the spoons out of their normal environment would work, so sticking around the dining room, perhaps a shot from a different angle with the spoon showing a nice fish eye of the laid out table, wine bottle, glasses, best china etc.

I like the bubbles too. Nice color and detail.

Neil

Hi Andy

Shiny - good ideas for all 3 shots. The bubbles have super colours on my monitor and good technique to capture.

Spoons - to me the best idea but whilst refelctions may be ok, because they vary so much i find them offputting. Not keen on your refelection in it either - but this is not a comment on you, just the appearance of a human:D Would be intersted to know what lens and focal length

Lights - good shot - I partic like the way that the centre bulb is sharp whilst the others blur away.

Overall i like your shots a lot.

You do know that I am in the reflection...

I know what you mean about more interesting subject matter, composing wasn't easy

I saw your recent pencil submissions on Flickr and I'll comment when they arrive on here, unless they already have.

Thanks, the spoons were with a 1.8 nifty fifty. Cracking lens.

Hi Andy, I like the fisheye effect of the spoons. I think the reflection is fun, it shows what we do for our art!

Yeah, I agree....us artists have to stick together

The spoons for me, really nice reflections. Nice to see you appear too :)

Cheers, I won't be making too many appearances.

Just seen yours pop up on Flickr so I'll nip over...

Cheers and...it's nearly Saturday :D

Well, here's one submission. Once again the fast and the quick have pipped me to the post with a few ideas....:bat:

There magical in there somewhere...just.

I have a few more ideas, as usual, but by the time the family have gone to bed I'm pooped so my concentration and patience wears a bit thin.

I'll have a look at those who have submitted their magicals tomorrow.

Cheers all.

very nice and well out of my league, have decided i am well lacking when it comes to creative photography

Lovely shot for magical; can't fault it other than the fact that the glass looks bent? The base looks shot from above, while the bowl looks shot side on? I'd be tempted to clone out the upper curve of the base, or even the entire base, to make it a little easier to understand, though it doesn't detract from the beauty of the shot.

Right just playing catchup to get up to date now I've posted my Shiny late :( and still need to shoot my "magical".

Shiny - For me it's got to be the spoons, really like the idea, bang on theme and just looks right.

Magical - nice shot, really love this and the colours there! I can see it is a little odd perspective wise ie the base looks flatter than it possibly should, but for me I'd have not cropped so close to the base.

'Magical' - I like that Andy, very creative. How did you capture that ?

Oooooo that's very clever, I like it. The blue glass works well against the red.

Yes, now spill the beans as to how you shot it and what is the red thing?

very nice shot Andy, some very nice light painting.
works for me.

i am right in saying it is light painting and not a true flame

A brilliant shot, well done

Thanks all. It's done with el wire...bought from Amazon. It's sssoooo cool to use in photography.

Yeah the perspective looks a bit odd, but I like it..add to the querkyness :D I photographed it with my Tokina 11-16 @ 11mm.

I'll nip by everyones threads tonight...now I'm busy buying a new mobile and it's damn hard to choose...:gag:

Very creative Andy, the red of the el wire works great in contrst with the glass. The jet black background sets the subject well against it. Iain

hi ya

Shiny spoons......did wonder if we'd see your image in here somewhere

Certainly on theme & I really quite like the reflections as they show how shiny the spoons are...quite like Neils idea of maybe using a laid table for reflection ?

Magical.....LOVE IT....just knew you'd do something with light painting for this theme & you've come up with a belter...fab BG ( didn't you say you struggled with these? ) 2 nicely contrasting colors & pretty darn sharp....fab work mister

very cool effect i like it and right on theme

I love this one Andy. its a great idea and well taken. I was looking at EL wire the other night - I really must get some soon!!

You really must. Ill be using it tonight at Temple Newsam :)

yep liking that v much

Very interesting shot ... took me a moment to 'see' the glass ... colours work really well.

Vice: "a habitual and usually trivial defect or shortcoming"

Some might say that being in my back garden at midnight with my camera, toy soldiers and a flashlight fits the description above. Me? I'd say we all need a hobby :D

Half way through the shoot the neighbours came out and I had to hide.....:help:

As usual, I have a few other ideas, one involves venturing into an "interesting" part of Leeds....:cuckoo:

Cheers and good luck with your week 13
