im taking a few shots of a couple of friends of mine tomorrow both girls

individually i have a good idea depending on the light tomorrow how i want them to pose but....

im just a bit stuck for ideas on how to pose them as a couple without it looking like they are a couple of lezzers ( i was going to pose them as lezzers but i was told to sod off :lol::lol:)

i dont want them to end up looking like a quick snap shot that you see on FB etc or anything that be misconstrued as a bit risque but a serious shot

anybody come up with any ideas for me:help:

Is it indoors or outdoors? If indoors try back to back, lying on their backs with heads together, use props like chairs and tables.
If outdoors, use trees, gates, lamp posts, get them playing with a frisbee or a ball...

this is a tricky one and it very much depends on how you/they want the images to look. what clothing are they planning on wearing. I find looking through a few magazines for inspiration can help or even do a google image search and see what jumps out at you.

Have you asked them what they fancy? I've only worked with a couple of friends who wanted pictures, but I asked them to come along with a couple of ideas or shots from magazines etc to say, 'we want it to feel like this'.

As far as I can tell, from my very limited experience, if you know what feel or emotions you're going for the specific poses beyond the few you have worked out ahead of time will revela themselves.

I am now waiting to be told I'm wrong :)

i shot them last week, liked the shots of them individually rather than a pair to be honest, i felt a bit of a tit as the park we were in was quite busy with lots of people coming and going and they are my mates so felt daft asking them to try different poses, me being an old git and them being young and good looking didnt help my paranoia that people were watching us wondering what was going on.

in retrospect i think ive a better idea now of what id like to shoot and have more of a " coudn't care less who is watching"attitude so hopefully il get a chance to shoot them again next week and try something different out

Thats it, its all about getting the confidence to do it, at least you have done it it now and wont worry so much next time. Im the same, im slowly making it on to the street for some photograhy but feel a bit silly at times with a big camera and lens.

I guess the one thing to look out for when posing them together is the effect of shadows by one on the other. Never an issue when shooting single persons but if 2 persons are close to each other it can have a real impact. If they are friends the will probably be comfortable with each other. There is an asda image that springs to mins with 2 girls one piggybacking the other and both smiling and laughing or a simple back to back can work as long as they arch their backs a little to provide a bit of light between themrather than a big block in the middle of your image... Dunno if that helps!
