I've got to do a research on 3 photographers that deals with portraits! I've got to talk about there methods of taking there images such as lighting, location and subject posing or position and consider equipment used!

Regarding the production of final images have the materials or processes used been chosen for a particular purpose or effect? And comment on any visual language elements: line, shape, tone, colour, texture, form, pattern, rule of thirds, horizon lines, leading lines, view point, framing etc....

I've done one photographer Steve McCurry! Was supposed to go to a gallery this weekend to see a gallery but ill so couldn't go and assignment due in on Tuesday! Can anyone please help :) xx

Google "famous portrait photographers" for a good start - there is Yousef Karsh at the top of their list.

There is an exhibition of work by Norman Parkinson at the National Theatre that is excellent.

Hth.

What exactly are you looking for? Plenty of famous portrait photographers out there. Annie Liebovitz is a contemporary one and then there's Julia Margaret Cameron from Victorian times, whose processes and ways of working were completely diffwrent. I think the object of the exercise is for you to analyse and interpret the photographers work against the brief, you won't find the answers to that on google!;)

I think it's just trying to find that image to talk about!

I think that you need to narrow your search down! Otherwise there's thousands of people you can talk about! Do you have a library you can go to, to have a browse at photography books? Maybe pick three photographers from different eras, or who focus on very different things, for a bit of variety :)
