Anyone got any links to tutorials or know of any particularly good books on editing portraits

preferably high level fashion/studio style stuff rather than radioactive eyes/plasticine skin tutorials that are all too prevalent on the net? :)

I want to put a bit more into my stuff but having trouble finding educational stuff that isn't like i've mentioned above and doesn't look amateur

Thanks in advance

there's some good stuff on model mayhem forum, you have to dig through a fair bit to find the good stuff though sometimes.

Thing to remember is never ever blur anything, if you see tutorial that mentions blur run you will be learning bad habits.

there is no quick solution if you want it to look right,
pixel level dodge and burn is probably the best but takes a while. also look for frequency seperation if you want to go to town.

simplish way
create to curve adjustment layers add a point in the middle of each on one layer drag the point up(lighten layer) on the other drag the point down(darken layer).
without layer mask that will add a lot of contrast and probably colour boost to your image.
layer mask both
with a light brush paint on the layer masks to lighten the dark patches on the skin or brighten them up a bit. basically your leveling out the tones.
I usually do that after the healing pass.

Hope that makes a bit of sense, Im at work so cant spend ages going into detail.
