Im thinking about getting a portfoilo printed but need some information..

For a photographers folio would you have one for Landscapes and a seperate one for Fashion or would you have just one with different sections?

Is there a maximum number of images considered ideal?

What is the prefered size? i think iv was told one it was around the 15x12 or there abouts.. is that correct?

If you put in a heavily pp'd image would you include the same shot unedited??

Thanks guys..

Hi fraggle

id probably go for one for the lot, 15x12 should be good, i would have thought and i think the uneditted shot depends on why you PPed so much.

dont take my word for it, just my opinion

id also think bout 50 max, if that. If the person looking has bout another 30 portfolios to go through, it will get time consuming flicking through more than that, and if they want more, they can ask, or put a note in the back

16x12 or 18x12 is a more common size, prob be easier to get printed than 15x12. If you have a website then you can get away with just putting a taster in the portfolio, say 10-20 images and have the rest on your website, be more cost-effective than gettin 50 prints done straight away. Also potential clients/agents like to see new work each time they request your book and them remembering changes amongst 50 images might be a bit tough.
Have a look at silverprint or plastic sandwich for good portfolios books and boxes.
Hope that helps, it really does depend on who you are planning to show the book to for the ideal set up

some of those books are very pricey!! Look nice though.. Id like to start getting it sorted now with a few images and build it slowly..

Thanks for the help..
