Just a quick and prob silly question but...

What have people used to display there portfolios ? Do you get prints and laminate then put in a binder or is there a specific way to show them like having the images printed as a book etc with your details on the front ?

thanks

How much do you have to spend, and who will you be showing the portfolio to? If you have loose prints, how big are they? Is it likely to be added to frequently? You need to think about things like these before deciding which way to go.

There are many different options, depending on your budget and how you prefer to present them, from boxes, cases, books, photo albums, binders, etc

I bought an A3 portfolio book from Rymans that has A3 plastic sleeves in. Not ideal as I don't think they're acid free, but I needed something quickly to give to someone.

Hartnack portfolios are very nice, but very expensive! This will probably be my long term approach when I get my interim solution back unto my hands.

Then of course there's the option of making something on Blurb, but you can't swap pages and add images in once it's printed.

PS Please don't laminate your pictures!

Thanks Andy

its for a BIPP submission sometime in the next 12 months, pictures will i think be 12x8. Im a event tog and mostly motosport so have an endless supply of images stored on hard drives so i will be selecting around 40 with around half being as prints and the rest as digital files to show for my submission, I dont want plastic sleaves so a photo book of sorts may be the way forward or perhaps mount the prints and store in a box. Budget around £100- £200. I do have several large canvases that i may be able to use as part of my portfolio too..

Defo no laminating :)

Prat make some nice folios.

Silverprint spring to mind.

Decent print boxes are OK too.

Polyester sleeves are crystal-clear. A nice box to contain them. Secol, Silverprint ...

You can shuffle the images, spread them on a table ...

Thanks Andy
