Portfolio advice - anyone got a min?

I like it but then I don't have a Flickr page so I don't know any others are like.

Some cracking shots on your page.

which ones?! please can you be specific of which are better and which are crap?! I need to get it down to bout 10!!! Thanks for taking the time to look :-)

Are you going to pay me to create your portfolio?

Seriously though, you have to make the decision or you might not like what I choose and what I choose others may not.

All of the shots serve some purpose for the art of photography.

lol thanks for the advice, just not got much confidence in my editing abilities, i'll either end up with 20 or 1! but thanks for the help, i'll just have to bite the bullet!

If I were going to choose 10 out of the ones you have there...

2, 3, 6, 12, 17 (but could be straightened), 22, 24, 26, 28, 34 - these imho are great shots

Hi Carly,

I don't mind commenting but would like a bit more idea of what the focus of your portfolio is to be - who are you targeting/are you wanting to specialise in one particular area or just looking to show a broad overview ?

sorry if the questions seem a bit daft but personally think if you're constructing a portfolio it needs some structure or a theme

regards

simon

2, 5, 8, 9, 10, 13, 19, 23, 25, 37 with possibly lakeview (28), off boat (26), lighthouse (24), street (20) and photographer (12) as reserve.

Got to disagree with ekimeno on 3 (too much other stuff detracting from the main feature. You actually have to look for the bath, so for most people they'll have already gone on to the next picture), 6 (pretty bland picture of a mediocre phone - 5 is much, much more involving imo), 22 (nothing particularly special about this photo, no central feature - or if it's the bridge, the people detract from it and your lines are confused), and 34 (it's a picture of a tortoise. They move at around 2mph. If you can't get a decent picture of a tortoise, then there's no hope. I like to see a bit of challange in animal photos.

I think the Grand Central photo is great, but the fact that it's just a touch wonky, and off center spoils it for me.

thanks for sharing. some great pics.

Is it just me or am i looking at the completely wrong set of images as number 3 looks like a monkey to me... not a bath in sight

Hey guys, thanks for all the advice, I am a bit confused what you mean about the bath? The portfolio is being done as I am finishing a commercial photography FDA and trying to get a portfolio together to start getting jobs in Travel/wildlife/landscape
Thanks for all the help guys

thank god i thought it was just me that couldnt see it!

Travel/wildlife/landscape --

In that case, lose the product, portrait and interior shots and you should be down to about ten images that are relevant to what you want to do.
