I'm interested to know what people would recommend as far as portable soft lighting modifiers go. (Bowens S Fitting) Shape is not really an issue, square/rectangle/octa anything goes.

Portability is key, so something that is easily put together and collapsed would be great. I had thought about just grabbing a 60" shoot through brolly, but fancy a little more control.

What do you guys use/recommend?

the go all umbrella'y give v good light and will fit anything with a brolly shaft

50" is big and soft 28"might be a squeeze with a big head but dunno, on my to buy list :D

Thats a good point David, I completely forgot about the Apollo... possibly my brain pushed them to the back of my mind due to the price they go for lol, they do look great. Any idea where they can be bought from for a good price?

120 for a 28" iirc

I think it would be cheaper just to fly to America and back again to get one :bang:
 
The Apollo is :thumbs: There was a 50" one on Fleabay a while back, but it had something like a 22mm shaft (:shrug:) but it went for something like thirty quid, so I'm sure it could be modded.....
 
The 50" apollo is fantastic, like a portable window, the light is just so nice from it. The 28" is not shabby either. You should be able to some heads in the 28, it takes a safari head no problem. Yes they are a little expensive but they work.

Anyone know of another manufacturer that makes a similar softbox to westcott? i.e. flash facing backwords and goes up like a brolley?
