My studio is currently situated at the back of a large old building. Part of the building is derelict and unused so I have decided to take the opportunity to use some of this space for a modelling shoot, as the setting looks perfect for the type of look i want. My problem is the room i want to use is another story higher than any power source and i am wondering if there are any ideas for using a portable power source and what kind? I would use an extension but I would need about three really long ones. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks

I'm presuming that you have mains powered flash heads that you want to use ?
Aside from hiring a power pack system, realistically you have the choice of hiring an inverter generator or using a portable power unit such as this :

..or good old fashioned battery flash guns..

Thanks guys, I'm swayed to using a flash gun to see how things go with that as the generator hire seems a bit pricey for this shoot. The extension lead won't be long enough unfortunately but i may invest in some additional extensions to make sure it reaches. Thanks agian!
