I have a Roberts 93i Internet which is blimmin great but its mains only so if i want to take it to the garden etc is difficult.
I want a portable power pack for it which can just plug in to the normal socket which says DC12V 2.2Amps.

ideally a box which would take recharbles ?

That would work. As would a 12v rechargeable drill battery.

Steve.

DAB radios are pretty energy hungry and if yours really needs 2.2amps then the battery in post two won't last much over an hour. A standard car battery would last longer but would not be so easy to cart about.

this is the reason I switched from using a DAB on battery to a bluetooth speaker and my phone in the garden, obviously radio is dependant on the wifi but I have good coverage in the garden... I have the Sony BTM8 and use 4 Eneloops and they last for donkeys before needing a recharge.

+1 for Bluetooth speaker & phone/tablet for radio in the garden - with battery pack for phone.

A motorbike battery would be far easier to cart about than a car one, although you might need another charger. My little DAB radio (a Red one from Sainsbury's) runs on 6 AAs as well as having a mains lead.

How about.....

A bluetooth radio transmitter paired to a bluetooth speaker??

A transmitter like these http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&...vptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_5w0nc4syy7_b

then you can leave the radio in the house and control it via your phone?

Have you seen the Roberts 93i?
The whole point of making it mobile is the sound quality is amazing and the whole package is fantastic.
buying a bluetooth speaker is just defeating the object

I think a small motorbike battery sounds like a good idea and then I can just make up a lead for it.
