Anyone know of a company that does battery powered lighting rental e.g. Quadra rangers, flashfeeders, etc

Cheers.

Professional Film Direct in Manchester
Their website is tripe! but you can contact Howard or Martin on 0161 273 3003
I know they are intending to provide the Lencarta Li-on as a rental item. They are likely to wonder how you knew, as it's a new development for them. You'll need to tell them I told you ;)

The Flash Centre do rental, as do Viewfinder in Leicester.

Where in the country are you? Not a vasssst amount out of London :( TFC and calumet in brum if you're midlands. Didn't know viewfinder lesta rent lights...

Btw Dav, if you're desperate I'm about ten miles from you!

I use Calumet for Profoto gear... Works out about £100 for the day. They van the equipment up to my local branch for me to pick up, then van it back to London afterwards (not at my cost of course). Great service that as never let me down.

Thanks for the info guys.

Thanks for the offer Mark - very kind of you. Where are you based?

I'm in dilemma land at the moment. I'm not getting enough power out of strobist kit when using a big modifier e.g large beauty dish. I have studio heads, but obviously these are not portable. So, I was thinking of -

1. The latest Safari from Lencarta - but I'm not convinced the mount will take the weight of larger modifiers

2. Ranger

3. Flash feeder jobby.

Decisions decisions. I will say I am in no rush, but I thought trying before buying would be a sensible route.

Cheers all.

The "official" line is that it won't, unofficially it will, as long as you're sensible and it is far, far stronger than any other portable flash system that uses plastic heads...

If you were unfortunate enough to catch the Garry Edwards lighting demos on the Lencarta stand at Focus, you would have seen me using the Li-on with the 70cm beauty dish...
