Im looking at getting something to store the majority of my pics, there are so many to choose from i really dont know which to go for

I think 160GB would be enough and i can always upgrade if i need more but which would you recommend.

I need it to be small and not cumbersome, that is my only need :D

Cheers

I like the Western Digital My Passports... £45 on Amazon for 160GB I think.

sounds good, i was also looking at the lacie rugged bit more beef incase it falls or something :)

Not sure of the prices but you can get the Freecom toughdrives they are supposed to be fairly good as well.

thanks for the info guys the toshiba one looks good although i dont get the BUS connecting...

You can get 1TB for under a hundred pounds. You can never have enough storage space for pics!:)

wow a tera....thats alot  that would take a while to fill :)

I use the Western Digital Passport drives 320G and 250G and take them everywhere and they haven't missed a beat. Also there is no power supply to lug around, just one USB cable.

how much are these? sounds like something id like

yeah they sound like the best option to me also, small and portable

If you must use a hard drive to store images that are important to you, at the very least write them to a good quality dvd as well.

good shout :)

Im going to be getting the western one looks like a safe bet.

I can recommend the Freecom 2.5" mobile classic drive (I've now bought 3 of these) no power supply (USB powered) light, small, quiet and will fit in your pocket. Ihave the 400GB and 500GB versions and they work well. Pre-formatted to Fat32.
