Has anyone found a good one?? I've been looking through the usual google images of these and apart from the heath robinson home made sort, there doesn't seem to be much that looks all that. I don't want to go and buy the gary fong type things without an opinion from someone who uses one, they all look good but...

One thought I have had, if cameras had a swiveling or verticle pop up flash it would sure make it easier to create decent modifiers .
Any recommendations of what you have used welcome :)

I have used the old 35mm film containers before with the side of it cut out to suit.:)

The problem with diffusers for pop-ups is they just haven't got enough power for bounce flash work, that gobbles light.

I quite like the look of this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fotodiox-Po...=1-6&keywords=pop+up+flash+diffuser+for+canon that has a sound design at least - pushing most of the light upwards for bounce, with a dash of direct fill-in, without too much waste. Be prepared to push the ISO high though.

Can't find that in the UK Hoppy, is it only available from the states I wonder. Looks good and it has that bit of reflective silver... I might order one of those and have a play.
Yeah I saw that earlier Gaz, as it makes the flash brighter, I suppose it might be possible to stick something on the front but I'm looking for something small and simple.

The problem with small and simple, is that it equates to small and harsh, to make softer light you need bigger light, it's sort of the whole point.

Personally I think spending more than ten minutes or more than a fiver on 'softening' the built in flash is a waste. A decent flashgun with a tilting head and something to help the bounce is a much more sensible use of resources, even if it requires more money. There's a reason it's the commonly trodden path.

Yeah I know that Phil, I've got speedlights and some studio gear,I just want to see what is available to be used with the pop up to make it less harsh. Hopefully something neat, not made out of milk cartons or requiring velco.

I`m using Gary Fong puffer pop-up flash diffuser, bought it few years back from ebay for much less than they are listed now, works well for me.
