Popular Photography and Kodachrome

Nope..with 60 years to go to 140 years (for life of Kodachrome), only 20 years olds can apply

Or, ya'know, get really friendly with a swimming pool sized container of Liquid N2 and hope for the best?

I've just been scanning a load of Kodachrome for a mate, all taken in the 60s. Some of them are lovely (and many of them are out of focus, which must have been gutting at 36/- a roll)

Any idea which country this was taken in? There aren't enough clues.

With what looks like a RCMP uniform and a Nova Scotia licence plate on the car, my guess is Canada.

So I was probably a little off the mark with Rutland then?

Possibly not. Rutland's in British Columbia, so the car could just be an out of province tourist

I've just being looking through the first Kodachrome I shot. The first roll from 1968 on my Regula Sprinty C had excellent colour but poor composition. The next roll using my new Zenith E on a school trip to Paris in 1969 was better. This one is of Versailles:



The colours haven't faded at all.

All my Kodachrome went to Melbourne!

The SilverFast people say that Kodachrome is hard to scan to get the colours right, and they have a special setting for Kodachrome. I used to use it and it worked fine for me.
