Every year at the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month people remember the end of the First World War and all who gave their lives then and since.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

I played at the festival of remembrance at Barnstaple today, very moving. They even got 3 soldiers/officers from HM Navy & Royal marines, the Army, and the Royal Air Force who've recently served in Afghan to speak about their experiences.

It's important to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice, but just as important to ensure the younger generations know what they're remembering, and that the freedoms we enjoy today have been paid for in blood, a payment that continues to be taken from our troops today.
