Evening all,

Is there any simple way to create pop art type images from photos ? Ive been using the filter, sketch, note book adjustment in elements but im still not getting satisfactory results.

This is what im trying to achieve. I used the popart picture of Mr Cash i have, then stuck it on some wood- then cut away the black bits.

I've got quite alot of pictures i'd like to convert (cheap xmas pressies ) - just need a little guidance ;) I did think a tablet/pen thingy might be good for doing this ? Im also thinking to get the desired shape i might need to fake sunshine coming from either direction :geek:

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Simon

Thanks Jon,

That does seem to be alot more effective

I find i have to make about 4 copies/layers of a head, then concentrate on a certain area - nose and eyes, chin, shoulders etc untill they look right. Is there a simpler way of merging the required pieces together ?

Not sure - I've not done much of this sort of thing; someone who knows about this may well be along in a bit.

What you need, clearly, is the contrast maximising, so... try converting to mono and boosting contrast, then using threshold?

There are nearly always a lots of approaches that can work both in photography and Photoshop. Research! (posh way of saying `mess about with a few sliders a bit :p)
