Well Eileen has had a spot of bother, On monday she bent over to stroke our jack russell "Mollie" who put her paw up and caught Eileens eye, and as there was no pain she shrugged it off.
Tuesday I went to work only to get a phone call that Eileen was in agony with her eye so away home I went and took her to A&E where a Doctor said there were two tiny holes and a scratch on her eye, so away we came with some eyedrops.
Today I had to take her back in a hurry as she has now got a hell of a lot of pain and constantly crying in agony, this time a dedicated eye specialist had a look and said straight away that the eye covering is not scratched but has a large tear in it so if it doesnt start its own healing process by friday its surgery, As for the pain she now has a concoction of codine and for infection some antibitoics.

Hope it doesnt come down to surgery and get well quick missus:hug:
 
EEKK, scary how easy it is for these things to happen!!. Tell the lady "get well soon" from me!!

And me, I'd hate to have eye surgery so I hope it doesn't come to that.

Easy how something simple turns into something serious, hope it heals ok, and I hope it does not need surgery, but, if it does it will probably be a simple procedure for an eye surgeon.

I only have one 'good' eye, the other one (left) has been operated on 9 times in my lifetime. I would hate for anything to happen to the 'good' one.

Thanks everybody for your kind words.I wouldn't wish this on anyone,the pain is horrendous when the painkillers run down so fingers crossed for Friday .

You poor thing. Fingers crossed it starts to heal and you can avoid any intervention. Look after yourself.
 
I once had a bit of metal stuck in my eye, but thought it was Arc eye from welding, so didn't go to hospital for 3 days. They were the most painful 3 days of my life, it hurt so much not being able to blink because it hurt so much, but having the continual urge to blink. I'm super paranoid about my eyes now, can't even put contact lenses in!
 
By the way if you want to see the culprit look at Eileens avatar..really soft as a brush will roll over at any time but watch out for the talons

Big ouch!!!!! know the feeling last night didnt sleep a wink,I wanted to close my eyes but when I tried the pain was terrible.

Hi guys just to let you know I went to eye clinic today and my eye has started healing by itelf although I will be left with a scar but no surgery (thank god).
and then the doc decided I had been given wrong medication and should have been on eye drops for pain and eye cream for infection (thats 3 lots of medication Ive been on so far ) lol but main thing is im getting better and if I want to play with mollie in futute im gonna wear my goggles.
 
Phew, glad to hear its going to heal itself. Just shows how easy these things can happen, and how delicate the human body can be.
 
That's good news. Hope you're fully recovered very soon.
 
Cheers for asking....... Not too bad today,at least my eye is now open but still at bit blurry and had to take codeine before as it started getting a bit sore (trying to only take them if needed now) and as long as I wear my sunglasses outside Im ok.
Went to Sandtoft today but nothing happening At least it wasnt my left eye which I use for my camera.
