Police officer deletes images

The sad thing about this, is that it is not just the original plod who was a muppet, but the others at the police station who backed him up.
It is a bit like the "plebgate" case, where the police (you could subsitute politicians here as well) lied, and then all colluded to attempt to pervert the course of justice.

Ha!! One plod makes a mistake and they're all corrupt.

Pish!! Even having been on the wrong side of the law (and battered and locked up for no reason) on more than one occasion, I still have the utmost respect for our boys in blue (and the other emergency and armed services too). They're an easy target for getting slagged off. Like any other walk of life there's good and bad and some that make innocent mistakes. The rotten ones deserve what they get but I'm sure the vast majority of the Police are spot on.

On top of that, if some berk shoved their camera in my space while I was going about my business, deleted photo's would be the least of their concerns. Believe!!;)

I'll leave that description until the situation arises. I'm well aware of what the law is in relation to photography in public places. Granny sucking eggs blah blah blah!!!!

One?, try hundreds that have been reported and thousands that havent! .... How many mistakes have to been made before defending them becomes part of the problem.

have hundreds been reported ? its more like 10 or 15 cases and in some of them there was serious provocation (most of the photography cases that are reported are security guards not police , and even then there are togs who go looking for trouble), add an enourmous helping of media hype and internet paranoia ...et voila one perfectly cooked non story

in reality there isnt even a problem for defending the police to be part of

IF I was asked to delete my photos by Plod, I would do it. RescuePro is a wonderful tool!!! If I was asked/told by a security guard or PCSO, I would make them get a real plod there before complying. Yes, I know I wouldn't have to but life's too short to mess about arguing the toss when there's a quick way out.

Your right for years the press & the police have had this sort of love/hate thing, and on both sides you get provocation alway has been there and alway will be :)

Save the insults, water off a ducks back. Trust me, I never say anything on here or any other Forums, I'm not prepared to say to someones face and I detest cowards who do and hide behind the relative safety of their computer desk. It's caused me bother in the past and will do again in the future no doubt. Keyboard Warrior no. Speak my mind? Yeh.! Handle it!!

I'm with you here, I've nothing but respect for all the services, what the do far outweighs the odd bad situation or individual, because of my photography interests I've dealt with lots of polices when they come out to see what I'm up to and I can only think of one sour incident among to dozens of amicable interactions I've had

Who? Me and Frac or me and T or all 3 of us?;)

I`ve spent all the time I want to spend with you sunshine.

I meant you and Frac, but if you want to invite others to join you thats your perogative... just so you do it behind closed doors, in an insulated bunker, at the bottom of a coal mine, in deep space, with no internet connectivity, and with a pact to never decribe proceedings to anyone.

You fancy tagging along then?

Shhhhhhhhh Brian, don`t invite all and sundry to our clandestine meetings on the North Yorks Moors.

OK, best keep it between ourselves.

I think that would be best, or we`ll get more green writing.

Well the last time I was in North Yorkshire at night it did get a little hot and the sparks did fly but I don't remember it getting blue  I'm obviously in the wrong or right circles depending on your prerogative :suspect:
