Don't you just love the Met? :shake:

I'm just surprised they didn't claim he was a photographer

All violent protesters should be boxed-up and set adrift in crates on the North Atlantic...

I'm sorry to say that apart from a few genuine demonstrators, the majority of those present at the G20 were there for a fight - and they got what they deserved...
They do their cause no good by pandering to press cameras and breaking windows...

It's not like they stumbled across it by accident after all...

I'm not quite sure what that rant has to do with the death of Mr Tomlinson, after all he was simply a passer by, nothing to do with the protest whatsoever.

Oh and we don't need any more rubbish set adrift in the oceans thank you very much.

wasnt a riot van raided and all the riot kit stolen in the g20 protest ? if remember rightly

could be a excuse for the police all though i think they are talking rubish they did say in a early interview that it may not of been a officer if it was a fake then that is one hell of a way to make the police look bad

No...but police did arrest 11 people who were travelling on their way to the protests in a van that also happened to contain full sets of fake police riot gear

Fair enough I should have been a bit clearer.
Look at the way the PA have reported it, then look at the way the Mail have taken that story.

Mail. Tabloid sensationalist scum.

Just as well I didn't quote The Sun then

Hehe, would have been exactly the same  Probably put the scum in bold though :p

Of course, if the police ensured that all officers wore visible collar numbers there would never be a problem where film of fake officers causing trouble was showing them in a bad light.

If we could see their collar numbers in the film they could be checked against the incident/call logs and roster sheets to prove that those officers were not involved.

seems that we may finally be turning the corner on this one with the HMI critical of the way protests are handled.

However seeing the Panorama programme last night it shows how far we have to go, and the head of ACPO doesn't seem to think they are doing anything wrong.

I see at the bottom of this report that the officer filmed pushing Ian Tomlinson is under caution for manslaughter, so no more talk of fake police officers then.

Interesting interview with Keith Vaz last night where he said that the reason the select Committee report on this said that the policing of the G20 was reasonably successful but only through luck was that they were told in evidence from the MSP that all the front line cops involved were inexperienced.

He was surprised to hear from Brian Paddick that they had all been the specially trained TSG, and it was one of them that pushed Tomlinson to the ground.
