Wow, a police officer touches someone's camera and you think it's a police state? :eek:

I've seen this video before and TBH the photographer is a complete tool! He was asked to move back a number of times, as the officer is entitled to do, but he kept ignoring him. What did he expect, a red carpet?
 
Ridiculous, Long Heavy arm of the law, would be interesting to find out if this is pursed and the outcome.

Maybe if Mr Heavy Arm is taken through the disciplinary procedure the Police may eventually understand they can't just grip a tog because their having a bad day.

No. He's a muppet who is a motorcycle cop because he doesn't have any friends and can't work with others. This shows the actions of one arrogant and stupid cop - not of the force as a whole.
 
I read through that and as I neared the bottom, there is another video ... this time, a videographer being taken to a quiet area for a stop & search, the reason, he had a pen in his pocket that looked like the handle of a knife :shrug:
 
makes me mad! there are a few good officer's but most of them are SCUM and think they are better them people.

Spot on, the other police officers were curtious and respectful, the journo's wern't moving back as they were asked to do
 
Would you rather he was arrested for obstruction?

It's about time that people realised that when given a lawful order by a Police Officer that they should actually comply with it. Having been asked to move back several times and ignoring the polite requests from two seargents and one inspector he thought that he would simply ignore them and carry on? The Police are trying to control a fairly volatile situation there and the inspector had it right when he said "cover it by all means, but from over there" It's a public order situation and his to control. The Seargent also told them to stay on the pavement and not block the road. Again, a lawful order.

Two wrongs don't make a right and the PC in the fluorescent jacket was out of order when he said he could not be filmed, of course he can and some re-education is definately required there. But the journalists do themselves no credit by ignoring the instruction of the officers in the first place and could quite easily have been arrested for obstruction of a Police officer or even obstruction of a public highway if you want to get picky. The only problem with doing that is that it takes away the resources from where the Police are actually needed.

Sorry, but I have little sympathy.

there are good police i have found lots if you be an idiot towards them they will be on back.....

i have got away with loads in my time (driving) but i will say there is just as many jobs worth coppers aswell that need slap up the backside of there head:bat:
 
sorry but he got told POLITLY so many times, so what does he expect when he gets that in return.... its his own fault and theres a big differance to shooting a building etc and getting that sort off hassle to been a idiot and then complaning when there a bit heavy handed with you...
 
Just watched the video, and yes, sadly it's the tog that's the ****** in this one.

The Police have a difficult job & they generally try to do this to the best of their ability.

Some photographers raise the red mist as soon as they see a hi-viz jacket.
 
i agree, they were asked and shown were they could do there job from, this is not to hinder the togs but was clearly more of a saftey aspect.

if i was asked to move i would of, they have a right to cover the situation but not to get in the way!
 
To be fair, a pair of nkobs in my opinion. The tog was asked to get on the pavement and declined to do so, but the motorcycle cop was just an arse, and deserves to be disciplined over it.

It's really hard for those guys, but doing silly things like that just gets the press on their backs.

At the same demo was another guy filming at an earlier demonstration it seems.
He was a bit of a knob as it turns out, but he was clearly stop searched on an entirely trumped up suspicion of carrying a knife, for filming the police.
That's how I see it anyway, no doubt others will be watching a completely different game :lol:

Another fine example of the police using the stop and search powers in the wrong circumstances :cuckoo:Though on this occasion I can see why the officer was mistaken....if you close both eyes....then squint really hard the pen dose indeed look just like a lethal samurai sword:lol:

Perhaps in the future the police training should focus less on the stop and search powers and more on the sight test.

I think the guy filming has escalated the situation by himself, i'm sure he could have been handled it better, the police can stop and search you with reasonable grounds, if there was a misunderstanding surely it could have been resolved without drawing attention to himself and being a general t*t, was he there to document the demo( "I'm Press") or to be part of the demo.

In my opinion the officers showed restraint, he could have been done with Breach of the Peace( Is that and offence down in England?)
