Lots of good points there Steve... If I'm honest, I hadn't thought of making my own! I'm very tempted now :D

And happy to announce my first photo has been taken and is currently nestled inside a book... can I look yet can I look yet can I look yet? ;)

what film are you testing? if it is ood polaroid then a few mins, if it is impossible stuff, best to wait an hour or so to be sure...... cant wait to see the result! oh ang Glad the camera works ok! always a worry.

Thank you! Now I have even more choice hahah! I do think I want something fluffy though!

Nah, it's colour protect! An hour  hahah okay... 40 minutes to go. It probably wasn't a good idea to do backlit, right? I'm nervous!

I'm thinking fluffy is the way to go!

I think they say up to an hour, although it says somewhere on the box, its a bit hit and miss sometimes which doesnt help with the cost!!

The store I ordered from sent a wee instruction sheet  and recommended "at least half an hour" so I'm going to leave it the hour to be sure!

Going to hunt for good materials... was your grass just material or did it have a backing?

It was just material with a strong double sided tape I believe so anything could be used

The possibilities are endless :runaway:

You got grass on the bottom? I can't imagine that..

hahaha  well you have a few weeks to work out what you are going to do, dont forget the camera needs to 'go away' now you know it works :p

All this talk of customisation isn't helping me! Ha. Shot the last of the Impossible Silver shade film now. Looking forward to going back to the colour stuff to be honest.

haha, it does start the mind wandering!!! I have silvershade to be used!

Mmkay... Did I set out to frustrate myself from the start, using a bright backlit scene or is this the result to expect? I think I like it!

Very quick digital snap of the scene. Which reminds me that window cleaning is due this weekend... :exit:

And the polaroid. SX-70 colour protect film, dial turned about 1/3rd to the dark side and left an hour to develop.

Thats turned out pretty good!! liking it.

now just pry it out your hands, put it back in the box and put it away until 25/12 :D

What do you think the result would've been like had I not turned the dial as much as 1/3rd?

Might have taken another... and forgotten, for the first and probably not the last time, to turn the dial :bonk: Think that's excuse enough to shoot the whole pack as a "test"?!

:coat:

hehe 'forgotten' ok, I believe you............... I pretty much shoot mine normal although I have got over exposed shots in the past because I forget to turn it down a bit.

Can you all stop it ;-)I'm now looking at SX-70 cameras on ebay...

It's not fair... I wish I never had sold mine years ago - big money to replace now & that's before I even start lining the Impossible Project coffers for film... ;-)

Haha the one where I forgot to turn the dial is horribly over exposed!

Just been into the Apple Store - Trafford. They are now stocking the Impossible Instant Lab and the Impossible 600 film. Bit more expensive than direct from Impossible though. £17.95 for the film and £235 for the lab. Good to see them in a major retailer though.

The impossible lab is good but far too expensive!! The impossible film is also too expensive and not reliable enough for its price.

If I'm honest, I thought the price of the film would be lower by now. I could understand the price when it first came out but now? :\ I couldn't justify the postage price straight from Impossible so went for a UK store, after asking how they store their film. I've since had lengthy email discussions with the woman and she's rather lovely!

I totally agree about the lab. Something I would like to own as a cool gadget, but not at that price. The film is expensive yes, but what are the alternatives at the moment? My first couple of colour packs seemed pretty consistent. I do think it's getting better.

I'm also lucky that there is an Impossible partner store in Manchester so I can nip in for film and wot not.

Not sure How they can charge that much esp as soon many prints are nowhere near quality of original polaroids

It is def getting more consistent which is good. Not many alternatives other than the ood polaroids which soon don't be any good.

This is from April last year.. old(er) impossible 600 film

Ooh err are we all in for a risqué set Xmas afternoonthen ;p

Hmm.. I'm confused about this turning the dial to the dark thing. It was recommended here, on the site and where I bought the film but they're coming out mighty dark. Took a photo of my husband this afternoon and it was an overcast day but still very bright out. You'd think someone turned out the light in the photo! Double checked with him that I'd only turned it 1/3rd into the dark and he agreed it was 1/3rd. Again, not sure if this is to be expected but I've seen others photos using the same camera and film and they're getting far better results. Tempted to try the photo I took today tomorrow and not moving the dial at all to see how that comes out.

Will get a photo of this recent one and upload it.

If all photos have come out dark, I would put it back to normal. Mine don't have any issues of darkness. :\ hope work it out without wasting too film

I don't think I can use the sunglasses photo.. it was backlit and I have no clue how the film reacts to being backlit! But I'm just gonna take a quick photo of the one taken yesterday and upload that. It was a late night for my husband last night but hopefully he's up before the sun goes away  to try again but without moving the dial

Okay, here it is. Like I mentioned earlier, it was an overcast day but still daylight - it wasn't dark nor dull at all. It's like someone turned the light out o_O

I do like it, though. Will see how it is with the dial left in the middle today... although it is a considerably brighter day today so far... the sun is actually out. So not too sure what to do! If it wasn't for the 1 hour wait, I could've tried again yesterday

I cant see a problem with that haha. Looks a great polaroid to me! But i you think it is a bit dark change to normal.

I do really like it! Just surprised by how dark it is compared to the amount of light available.. will try the same photo again without moving the dial today.

edit - in saying that, he does look fairly well exposed... hmm!
