Well all the pieces came together and my brain engaged geeky IT mode (thats what I do). Its an old SCSI scanner and needed a very old Adaptec 2940 card to connect up to, sutable all setup and connected and............

no drivers for the adaptec 2940 for windows 7....hummmm....

so last supported OS for the x64 bit driver was Windows Vista :D

so off we pop round the web to find those files and rejig the ini file for windows 64x .....seemples :p

all connected and happy.....so on to scanner SW.

Silverfast 5i was supplied with scanner for Windows XP....ummmmm nope.

lets try the latest version of Vue SCAN for W7 64x.

all up and running supports the polaroid Sprintscan 4000 out of the box.

Sample scan.

WOW and this from a picture taken at Brighouse station, check out the reflection in the wifes sunnies !!!

Full up 4000 DPI scanning

Eh ??

yeah....well done, colours look a bit off but as they're just testers, plenny of time for colour correction..:)
its a decent scanner, probably a bit of noise in the blacks on proper dense slides, like mine, but mebbe you can post a sample in a month or so when you've got the hang of it.

I've had dealings with SCSI and scanners, now it works I can't dump XP.

I don't do colour correction thats what the pictures are im just crap :-)
