I've decided to spend my pay rise on something a little different... A Polaroid Camera but I'm stuck as to which one would best suit.
I've been looking as the lomo instant camera as it has a lot of things to experiment with but I don't like the choice of film as it's a little small. I want the full polaroid experience :)

What cameras that allow a lot of play and fun factor that the lomo instant had but take full size film?
I've tried to look around and most polaroid cameras are fixed settings with the exception of some of the older land cameras, but I'm not sure if they take the films that are available from the impossible project. I know some sites offer modified cameras, have anyone got one that could recommend?

I have a Spectra camera which is the rectangular rather than square format. I prefer it as it looks close to 6x7 which I'm very fond of. It's autofocus and has a couple of options for changing exposure such as adding flash and lightening/darkening the image, but nothing major. The viewfinder is really accurate, which always surprises me considering the type of camera. I think I paid about £20 for it on eBay, which is peanuts when you consider the cost of the film.

Lots of fun. Just get one and have a play. You can always sell it (for what you paid) and buy something different. That's another advantage of these old cameras.

I've got a Polaroid 104 land camera takes 100 pack film and really like it don't like paying for film mind!
I'm thinking of getting a spectra next
The 104 is very old can change light settings just case of turning the lens dial in front
But tricky to get used to
It's manual focus with 2 leaver type devices on front not the easiest to use but when you get a good image well worth it
Prob best I've took so far........

Well I took the plunge, i ended up with the lomo instant. I figured the film is a bit cheaper for me to play and practice with....

Nice one please share your results do love the look of instants

Will do, I have run a pack though it. Still getting used to it. I did get one nice shot of a lego man close up.

Cheers I love messing around with it.
Only thing is that cost of the film, cheapest I've seen is amazon or flea bay at £65ish for 100 shots

Yea it's not cheap I pay 14 pounds for ten fujifilm 100 so don't use it much but when I do I really enjoy it gets some funny looks too it's a big old ugly Betty :)

Its not too bad thinking about it, weighing up film and develping costs.
Still cheapter then the new polaroid at about £2 a shot!
