Finally, I have my motor drive cable and my pocketwizards and I'm in business and happy

Does anyone else have them and what do you use them for?

Just to give me other ideas....

^^^^^

same as her! What else do you THINK you can use them for?

Perhaps you could control your remote control Subaru Impreza!!! :D

Glad someone knows ;)

I've spent a fortune to get this far and was petrified that they wouldn't all work together, but they do :)

We ALL know what they are for.... to trigger flashes!

What we couldnt understand was you asking what ELSE they are used for!! :D

you may want to have a look at www.sportshooter.com - and look at the videos here:
http://www.sportsshooter.com/special_feature/index.html
if you have not been to this website before you may find it a goldmine of info - but only really if you shoot sports/action. there is a video or two there that talk about using pocketwizards, for remote shooting (goalcam) and also a rig to create a 30 frame per second vertual camera using three pocket wizards!

Cheers, that looks like a goldmine!

Janice, I didn't buy them to use with a flash either...

*Confused*..

Take a look at the link below. One of the best, no, THE best photography learning website and Pocket Wizards are at the heart of it all.
strobist

It'll consume your life if you get into it. All I think about now is light, I just don't get enough time to shoot what I want. I'm using the ebay 'Poverty Wizards' but the way things are going I can see some pocket wizards being bought in the future.

Do you need a special type of flash, or is it for studio lights because my speedlight has no connection other than the hotshoe. Or am I totally barking up the wrong tree?

I use mine for studio strobes, and I am going to use them to trigger a second camera.;)
