So after I get my 70-200 f/4 L tomorrow, I'll be starting to invest in a more portable lighting kit.

Currently I own a 580EX. I'll be purchasing the Pocket Wizard kit which includes a transmitter and a receiver.

The receiver still allows my 580EX to trigger any more slave flashes within the 'line of sight' which means if I purchase a few 450's or 580's, I can have a pretty nifty set up with only one pair of Pocket Wizards.

Does anyone have this sort of set up, and any experiences on how its been for them?

Very impatient =D

If you could share how well off-camera flash worked for you?

I have a feeling it's going to be an amazing way to have a porta-studio.

I've got the same ones. One thing I would recommend is getting new batteries straight away. Even though they come with batteries they're notorious for for being a bit flat which can cause non-fires of the flashes occasionally. If you get the ebay ones make sure you get the v2 ones for using with canon flashes as they're modified to work better than the v1s.

I got light stands from tecno at £9 each, 2 silver 41" brollies for £6 off ebay from fotosupplies. The other thing you'll need is the adaptors to mount the flash on the lightstand if you're going down that route.

I just bought a cheap set of eBay. Just been dispatched so should have them in a week or so. Same sort of idea - £10 or so, plus about the same postage. Right now I just can't afford PWs...
