Hi

Have you got any special equestrian shots you're proud of and willing to share? For example, not the 'norm' run of the mill bit boring shots. Any which have been enhanced in pp etc. Nice portraits.

Just looking for some inspiration. :)

Many thanks.

Lisa

Here we go not that good but getting better (I hope !)

Thanks Briony. That's lovely.

I've seen a website where the photographer uses flash and he's got some really nice results, nice moody shots with dark skies.

Thanks Dave. I really like the first one.

Something from a while back. Apologies for the watermark, can't locate the original at the moment.

I like that Fabs. Did you shoot it with a wide angle?

Lisa

right here we go.

i have 3 here, the first one is my favourite equestrian shot i have ever taken, but could possiblly count as "run of the mill" shot but its not every day you get badminton house in the back of an equestrian photo!

Galloping away from Badminton House by Alastair Begley, on Flickr

and then two slightly different shots

and this was taken by lieing on a very cold and still frosty under the top layer ground!

Hi Alastair

Thanks for the photos. I love the first one because it's got the house in the background but, I probably love it more because its an apolosa (sp). It's nicely exposed too.

I also like the sillouette shot too. Very nice.

The one that gets the most comments above all of my other shots!

Another good un. I like the angle, it's really nice and sharp, love its forelock, the light is nice too and the background adds to it.

Thank you. Exif is Shutter priority, 1/250 sec, f/4, ISO 400. Taken with a Sony A100, Sigma 70-300 APO DG. Then lots and lots and lots of dodge and burn, the original wasn't great, but it was taken specifically for me to try and do this in photoshop. I have a before and after comparison if you want to see it?

My latest shot

This isn't the thread for that discussion Ade.

Fair does Marc, one of my favourites then..................:)

Was that before or after they nearly drowned the nag?

My pic was taken in 2010. I didn't see any incidents to worry about, but obviously I wasn't there 24/7 unlike the police and rspca inspectors.

A rare image post from me:)

One I took at the farm in Whitney Oxford where we stay every year, they have 15 stables and countless horses out on pasture.

Absolutely love that shot.
As I did and the owner Marc, the pic came out a treat. Even though I knelt in horse crap to get it................

This thread reminds me that I ought to take more portraits rather than just action shots!!

Mucking about with an idea:
