Just wondering if anyone can recommend a decent umbrella bracket with hot shoe?

I've been looking at these and wondered if they are any good or if anyone can recommend something better?

I just have cheap versions that came with cheap stands at the moment and need something that will grip my flash properly as recently I had to resort to using masking tape to keep it from falling and smashing on the floor!

Time to invest in better kit me thinks!

I ordered that very one last night from the Calumet Ebay store so I can let you know in a couple of days. Also got it for £18.50 and free delivery.

I have a Calumet and a Manfrotto. They're similar. Calumet is well made, and not expensive. They are not engineering masterpieces, but do the job.

The Calumet type ones have 2 screws in the top so it's not easy to remove the hotshoe (if you wanted to put a spigot in place of the hotshoe). There's another metal bracket (without the locking ratchet where the bracket hinges) which allow the hotshoe to be unscrewed.

They're both available on fleabay for about £7

Cool will look in to it :)

Isn't that a cold shoe not a hot shoe? Anyway, I am happy with the quality of the ones from cotswold photo via eBay. They make very compact stands as well.

If it is coldshoe you're after, i've just received a couple of these:-

Its my first venture into studio photography hence me going initially for the cheaper end of the market. I have nothing to compare them to, but they seem really sturdy and well made. My flash is held on securely as is my umbrella - I certainly don't feel there's a risk of it all falling apart when its together.

For the price, i'm extremely pleased with them - and they were delivered within a couple of days of ordering too!
