Yeah, I think I may have fed the troll on this occasion but he's been removed from the group for his troubles![]()
I'm afraid I know the chap in question. He's usually a very nice guy.
Lol didn't spot that one. So it was the cardDoesn't the first post on page 3 make no sense?
"Unlikely to be anything but the card speed"...

I had a real-life incident involving my ex-brother in law......
It was a pretty pointless discussion about my ex wife stating she can drink vodka & coke and not feel too drunk after several of them but 2 glasses of wine and she's "tiddly".
I said that's because the % of alcohol in a vodka & coke drops to around 7%-8% (give or take) whereas most wines are 12%+.
BiL pipes up that he's been a licensee and a vodka & coke, when mixed remains at 37.5% regardless of how much mixer you put with it. Mother-in-law pipped up "Well, he was a licensee, I think he know what he's talking about", to which I replied along the lines of "Whether he was a licensee or not, I studied the sciences at A-level, unless they've changed a lot of stuff since then what he's saying is completely impossible".
Apparently me then getting on to google to back up what I was saying was me just "having to be right"...... errrmmm but I was
Sadly I do retain a lot of useless information and will normally try to reason problems/questions with logic and do a little research if needs be.
I'm far from a know it all and if I get something wrong I put my hands up and say fair enough but am I really expected to pretend I don't know the answer to something when someone is blatantly talking rubbish ?![]()
I think your explanation was the most likely and best reasoned for what it's worth![]()
It's also hilarious to be marked as "just having to be right". Let's totally ignore the facts and science, that had nothing do to with anything. Surely it is just about point scoringyeah right.
I think that again just speaks volumes about people's own interpretation of the world and their own actions. I love being "wrong" as in the domain of not knowing what you don't know Is where you have a real opportunity to learn.
Indeed, you learn more from mistakes than from always being right.
I might have been tempted to use Ribena and water as an example. Or sometimes, if I'm chatting to someone who has no clue and isn't about to relent, I let them get on with their ignorance.I had a real-life incident involving my ex-brother in law......
Until the end of last year I was still quite an advocate for Basefook, despite the increasing number of irritating misquotes and factoids that were coming from various friends. I ended up having a young friend who had published something completely stupid about Monsanto adding cancer causing toxins to sanitary pads refusing to accept the facts that her post was untrue despite even her father posting refuting evidence. In the end realised I'd had enough of seeing what went on in people's heads. Account deleted.
I'll re-join shortly with a new name because it's the only means of contact with a small number of people I care about, but otherwise I'm staying off.

I think to really demonstrate it you'd have to drink about five glassesI would use Vodka and Coke - straight Vodka in the numpty's glass and Vodka and Coke in mine - at a 1 part Vodka to 5 parts Coke ratio. In a pint glass. See who's still standing 30 minutes later!
I know I couldn't stand up after a pint of neat Vodka! Pretty sure I'd be relatively OK after 1/6th of a pint though. Hell, a Cretan measure of Ouzo is the best part of 1/4 pint and I know I can handle one of them and a bit more.

On the subject of booze, I got really quite Merry after only three pints one night this week. Amazing really considering how much I used to put away. One the perks of Dryanuary.![]()
