Hi,

I am looking to sell you're photo to canvases through my website, i have a wordpress page and have created order form, file upload option, payments page, a social media advert an email reply thanking them and the process is easy to manage. What i really need is a way to prompt the user to crop the image to fit the size format i have chosen (A3). Its a bit of a pain with aspect ratios. I don't want to be cropping them manually then contacting the buyer to see if this ok before going ahead with the print. The process needs to be done without them needing to be contacted. Any suggestions on what code, wordpress apps?? I have tried searching the web but have been unsuccesful.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Thanks

Andrew

Just a thought, but are you enforcing a minimum resolution & size on the image upload or telling clients on the form the minimum acceptable resolution & size to ensure a decent quality of the finished product?
One thing you definitely don't want is someone uploading a 72dpi 400 pixel image which will cause you lots of hassle when you have to contact them, explain about resolution and get them to re-upload. Sorry if this has been addressed but you didn't mention it in the post and it was the first thing that occurred to me!

Jim

I have covered quality issues on the order form, the problem I foresee is aspect ratio. If I offer an A3 canvas then the aspect ratio will mean cropping will occur but I would rather they do that than me having to edit it. That way what they submit is what they get, seamless process then

Why not let them upload the artwork to be printed, work out the aspect ratio and then offer a range of canvases in that aspect ratio, rather than a one size fits all approach?

I know now what i needed in order for it to be automated but found out too late instead i just offered the A3 canvas and cropped it myself the people who bought them didn't seem too bothered that it was cropped i'd even go as far as to say they didn't even notice  Thanks for the input though guys!
