Please back your photos up.

I'm storing everything on my internal drive, replicating to a NAS drive, and backing up on line with mozy.com in a hope to spread my risk. This strategy won't work for much longer as my drives fill up. I am of the belief that sticking a hard drive in a cupboard for archiving will result in drive failure in a few months due to lubricants drying up in the drive. Drives are designed to move not be left off.

I have a 10Gb hard drive - just plugged it in. Not been used for about 6 years - worked no problem!

Every media has issues. CD/DVD a waste of time - too slow and not reliable - I've lost data from them and I've lost hard drives too! Not sure that Blu Ray is much better but may be worth using as a second back up for things like weddings and events

I just can't see past using int/ext or NAS hard drives. Fast & now very cheap and you can update as you need more space.

I have a crazy number of drives but hope to purchase a couple of 2Tb drives soon to allow me to consolidate a bit.

I have at least 2 copies of all my files (some 3 copies)

Think im going to buy a portable hard drive. However im thinking about getting a VPS to back up online too?

Cool. I'm starting to think I got it wrong and that archiving to hard drive is ok!
