I love a gadget and seen some good reviews on the pricey PlayStation vr kit. Anyone here tried it out in person if so is it worth the money? Running close to a grand if you don't own a PS4 it's a costly gaming system.

I don't have any experience myself but one of the guys I work with went to PSVR demo in a local Game store last week.

He hasn't shut up about it since, so I'm guessing it's pretty good.

My personal opinion is probably Vive is the way to go, with competition for VR being hot, I don't believe Sony and their PS4 have the capability to produce something genuinely comparable to sets like Vive, just my opinion.

That said, Tech radar do have PSVR in their top 3 along with Vive and Oculus Rift. I just wonder if sony will find themselves limited by the power of their console in the coming months / years.

I've got one, had it preordered since day 1 so was quite a wait. It is genuinely a great bit of kit however until the games library gets larger it's got limited use in my case.

Fire away with any questions you might have!

Cheers Neil just wondered if it was worth the cash tbh? I don't have a PS4 so would be an expensive purchase for me

Depends on what type of games you like really, Driveclub VR is fantastic, as are the experiences such as Ocean Descent where you really get a grasp as to how good it CAN be. All that's available now are simply a small selection of games and some good experiences, however there are some excellent titles coming out such as Robinson and Farpoint.

That being said, it's THE best value for money in terms of VR, the rift and Vive may have higher fidelity but with the cost of a VR-ready gaming rig and additional space it can simply spiral out of control.

And trust me, watching review videos (no matter how many...) will give you zero indication of what it's like, it's one of those things you have to try. If you were local I'd be more than happy to let you try it!

Thanks for that mate much appreciated..Think I may wait and see what prices do after xmas for now.
