ill try to explain best i can

i have a ps3 I'm currently connected to pc monitor via hdmi

i would like sound so i can play my games

pc has speakers but no separate input source only the lead it comes with which is fixed

i have the original lead with yellow white read and a 3 way splitter i.e. for red / white into single source

as this current set up i don't believe i can get it to work

i have a mac tower about that has analogue audio in and audio out can i use this maybe ( how do i set it up )

any advice will be great

is there a headphone socket or line out on the monitor?

I believe you can use a line out via the start socket connector on the back of the PS3 to audio in on the Mac.

I did this with my xbox360 so I could use headphones. It also allowed me to listen to my own music while playing games.

i have attached cdmi for video out put then used original rgb to give it a sound feed then done a 2 into 1 connector but i was thinking to use mac as a amplifier then it would go out to speakers as normal but not sure how to set it up

Depending on your mac - connect your 2in1 connector to your "line in or aux" on your mac - and connect the speakers to "Line out or SPK out" on the mac.

There is probably a mixer on the Mac somewhere and you turn the level up for the input

Might be wrong - but I think you can change sound output options on the PS3? i.e. send video via HDMi and sound via Phono?
